With the release of Necrochasm, the forthcoming sonic nightmare from Los Angeles-based black death industrial miscreants THE BLACK SCORPIO UNDERGROUND, now less than one week away, today No Clean Singing is pleased to undrape the visual companion to the track “She Who Cannot Be Saved.”

T.B.S.U. traffics in harsh noise, industrial, ambient, and elements of black metal,” observes No Clean Singing. “T.B.S.U. also traffics in fear, torment, claustrophobia, and death. This song in particular is anchored by huge, heaving waves of deep, distorted sound, rising and falling against a shimmering ambient background. On that uneasily shifting foundation, T.B.S.U. layers an array of disturbing noises – some of which sound like a Necrochasm distorted guitar being tortured, others resembling the heavy breathing of a monstrous leviathan. Ghostly wails and hair-raising howls rise up and are then subsumed by the fog. Near the end, the harsh, reverberating sound of timpani augment the sensation of witnessing an occult ritual calling forth… something you hope will not answer. Not surprisingly, ‘She Who Cannot Be Saved’ was recorded in the abandoned Hollydale mental asylum in Downey, California. Fittingly, the video is a head-trip and a half, and it meshes with the sound like hand in glove.”

A true manifestation of fear, apprehension, and suffocating paranoia, Necrochasm offers up seven disturbing tracks of claustrophobic cacophony. Featuring contributions from Samantha Viola of T.O.M.B., Dreadlords, and Skulsyr, the disharmonic masterwork was captured at Black Blood Studios in Long Beach, California and Hollydale Asylum, in Downey, California. Necrochasm will be unleashed on October 28th, 2016 on 12″ vinyl through a partnership with Husk and Prison Tatt Records.and digitally via THE BLACK SCORPIO UNDERGROUND’s official Bandcamp page.

Forged in 2000, THE BLACK SCORPIO UNDERGROUND, whose split with T.O.M.B. last year made substantial waves within the black metal/noise communities, fuses harsh noise, industrial, ambient, and black metal elements to create their deafeningly sinister, occult-ridden magick. With a dedicated and expanding fan base and endorsements from the like of Watain’s Erik Danielsson and Trepaneringsritualen’s Thomas Martin Ekelund among many others, T.B.S.U. has generated an extensive catalog of releases including splits with such genre heavyweights as Richard Ramirez/Werewolf Jerusalem, The Vomit Arsonist, The Haters, Demonologists, Actuary, and Endometrium Cuntplow.

T.B.S.U. is the creation of world-renowned tattoo artist/musician, Joe Truck, inker to many of black metal and industrial music royalty. Truck, who’s been a staple within the NYC deathrock/punk and goth scenes since 1979, has performed in bands with members of Swans, Einsturzende Neubauten, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Snakefinger, and Samhain. Truck is also the founding member and guitarist in New York City-based 1982 goth act Scarecrow.

THE BLACK SCORPIO UNDERGROUND has my full support for being a malevolent anomaly in US and more specifically Californian subculture, upholding the traditions of the old harsh noise scene. ” – Erik Danielsson, Watain

“Necrochasm is the kind of album that transports you into, and shows you, the ugly side of life. It’s a beast that comes at you full force, tearing itself open, pouring its guts onto the table for you to revel in and then, when its spirits broken, it retreats to lick its wounds.” – Angry Metal Guy

“…some of the darkest ambient/electronic music I have ever heard.” – Misanthrope ‘Zine
