PAIN TANK: 97,901,726 Confirmed Kills Full-Length By Washington, DC-Based Hardcore Grind Unit Playing At Decibel Magazine; Album Out This Friday

PAIN TANK GROUP1

As Washington, DC-based PAIN TANK preps their 97,901,726 Confirmed Kills debut for independent release this Friday, the entire raging album is now pummeling all in earshot at Decibel Magazine through an early stream.

PAIN TANK declares, “97,901,726 Confirmed Kills is an album created by a band that clicked instantly. We all knew one another from the other bands we’re in and knew what each of us were capable of, but we didn’t know what direction we wanted to go with PAIN TANK. This album was written in about a week-and-a-half and recorded live in about a day-and-a-half. Any preconceived notions we had coming in went directly out the window and we played off one another until we reached what we felt was something important.”

Decibel offers with their stream of the record, “While the noisy hardcore grind outfit absolutely rips through thirteen tracks, the band isn’t just on a senseless killing frenzy. The songs are an outlet and an examination of pain. 97,901,726 Confirmed Kills isn’t just one of the most brutal album titles you’ve heard this year: it’s an attempt to calculate all the deaths caused through wars the United States has been involved in. The mental weight of that thought coupled with the explosive force of Pain Tank’s music hits like artillery fire.”

PAIN TANK will release 97,901,726 Confirmed Kills on digital and CD platforms through the band’s own independent Edgewood Arsenal Records on March 17th; find preorders at THIS LOCATION.

PAIN TANK was formed in 2016 as a side project for its four members, who also hold rank in the likes of Construct Of Lethe, Palkoski, Cammo Shorts, and Reticle; the project rapidly became a focused, permanent act which ventures into musical and lyrical territory not explored with their other bands. Surging with unchecked, annihilating sounds not explored within their other acts, the band’s 97,901,726 Confirmed Kills was recorded live at Trepan Studios in Woodbridge, Virginia over the course of eight hours, the album void of any loss of the band’s crushing live sound. Engineered and mixed by drummer Tony Petrocelly, who also handled the art and layout for the record, 97,901,726 Confirmed Kills blasts thirteen rampaging tracks point blank into the listener’s face in under twenty-four minutes.

PAIN TANK‘s lyrics show a depth and intensity rarely seen in extreme music, and a ferocious vocal delivery that is simultaneously tortured and torturous. 97,901,726 Confirmed Kills is a figure that seeks to tally the number of deaths – both military and civilian, foreign and domestic – that were caused by all wars America has been involved in. PAIN TANK is a mirror to the suffering of this world, not an act created for shock value. What they present is the opportunity for pain. Critical thinking is pain. Growth is pain. PAIN TANK is a means to confront the darkest, most atrocious acts of mankind.
