Into The Crypts Of Blasphemy

INTERMENT, purveyors of putrid Swedish death metal featuring members of Demonical and the now-defunct Centinex, return with their much-anticipated and long-overdue debut full-length, Into The Crypts Of Blasphemy. Featuring nine filth-ridden tracks over a span of 36-minutes, Into The Crypts Of Blasphemy is the band’s first full-length since forming 22 years ago and offers some of the purest, sickest-sounding contemporary Stockholm death metal you’ve yet to hear. May you rest in festering slime! Recorded, mixed and mastered by Crypt Of Kerberos/Tyrant axeman Peter Bjärgö and showcasing the artistic talents of Polish extreme graphic artist Rafal Kruszyk (NunSlaughter, Machetazo, Hooded Menace etc.), Into The Crypts Of Blasphemy is not just a nostalgic retro death trip but also a lesson in Swedish violence! For fans of dirty, merciless death metal a la Dismember, Grave and Demonical!

Night Assassins

The debut full-length from Hungarian thrash metal miscreants MORBID CARNAGE, Night Assassins features seven tracks of raw, molten, ’80s-inspired hell thrash that reek of beer, burning embers and empty graves. Formed in 2007 by members of Fagyhamu (pagan black metal) and Concrete (confrontational, ’80s thrash), the MORBID CARNAGE mission is simple: “We play in the old-school thrash style for the feeling. Enjoy our music and open a bottle of beer now in the name of metal! Night Assassin awaits you, Night Assassins kill you!” For fans of early Kreator, Destruction, Nuclear Assault, Possessed etc.!

Black Penance

Known for their blend of dark/goth influences with a metallic intensity, Singapore’s MELTGSNOW (pronounced Melting Snow) unleash their latest full-length, Black Penance. Recorded at various locations throughout Singapore and Thailand, mixed by Cedric (Meza Virs) at Inversion Productions and mastered by Swedish engineer-extraordinaire Jens Bogren at the highly respected Fascination Street Recording Studio (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Bloodbath, Paradise Lost, etc), the band’s mix of melody with aggressive, dark rhythms and intense vocals will appeal to fans of later Paradise Lost, Dir En Grey, Deathstars et al.

Dark Are The Skies At Hand EP

Swedish deathgrinders QUEST OF AIDANCE, featuring drummer Henrik Schönström (Unmoored, Solar Dawn, Incapacity, Torchbearer et al), bassist Christian Lundgren (Carnalized), vocalist Anders Johansson, guitarist Christian Älvestam (Solution .45, Incapacity, Solar Dawn, Scar Symmetry, Torchbearer, Angel Blake et al) and guitarist Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, World Below, Centinex, Carnal Forge), return with four tracks of sickness in 10″ vinyl format. An irrefutable classic, the Dark Are The Skies At Hand EP offers two instrumental tracks that are sure to catch listeners by surprise with their perfect balance of devouring deathgrind and bleak atmosphere. Recorded at Flatpig Studios (Incapacity, Spawn Of Possession, etc) and mastered by Plec at Panic Room Mastering (Torchbearer, Ghamorean etc), Dark Are The Skies At Hand is limited to 500 hand-numbered copies and exclusively released by Pulverised Records. Features artwork and layout by Par Johansson from PJ Illustrations and Satariel fame. A new QUEST OF AIDANCE album is currently in the works, and will be recorded and mixed by Kjellgren at his own Black Lounge Studios.

The Human Machine

The tenth studio album from legendary death metal icons MASTER, The Human Machine is brimming with old-school jarring death/thrash riffs and crust-inspired attitude with the leathery gargle of mainman Paul Speckmann leading the charge. Recorded at Shaark Studios (Root, Fleshless, etc) in Bzenec, Czech Republic with Speckmann at the producing helm, The Human Machine heeds to no trends or rules and finds the shamefully unsung outfit at their most devouring. An unpretentious, merciless audio assault; true “Speck Metal!” In addition, the disc features stunning cover art by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sigh, Anacrusis et.) and is available in a standard version and an alternate slipcase version with different artwork. Said Kantor of the decision to do two covers: “The basic idea is to have a continuation of the story told in the real front cover, after the two policemen picked up the criminal from the floor. It’s a lot simpler; it’s a brand new image that will add value to this limited edition, and at the same time it reacts naturally with the real cover and the overall theme carried throughout the album, as this album has a specific subject matter and the ‘arrest’ scene is based on Paul’s original idea.”

“Dragging its venomous oldschool intent like a caveman with his club, MASTER are proudly living up to their name and taking their place among death metal’s founding fathers.” – Terrorizer

Playing God And Other Short Stories

Released earlier this year, Playing God And Other Short Stories is the latest full-length from legendary Israeli extreme metallers SALEM. The band’s seventh studio album since forming in 1985 was recorded at Harold Studios in Israel and mastered by UE Nastasi at the prestigious Sterling Sound in NYC. Playing God And Other Short Stories includes a guest vocal appearance by At The Gates frontman Tomas Lindberg, (on “The Mark Of The Beast Part 1” and “The Mark Of The Beast Part 2”) as well as a cover of Bob Marley’s “Exodus.”
Other SALEM notes of interest:
• SALEM was the first Israeli band to be put in regular rotation on MTV’s Headbangers Ball.
• SALEM was the first extreme metal band to have done a full-length studio album accompanied by a full string quartet. The unusual co-operation led to the band playing a live set with an all-girl string quartet from Israel.
• Mayhem frontman Attila Csihar performed with SALEM in 2005 live on stage, covering two of Mayhem’s most memorable songs: “Freezing Moon” and “Deathcrush.”
Playing God And Other Short Stories is the first album in SALEM’s history to move away from their strong political subjects. Instead, the new album is loosely based around the concept of super heroes.

The latest full-length from Swedish melancholic metallers IN MOURNING, Monolith was recorded at Black Lounge Studio (Scar Symmetry, Carnal Forge, Steel Attack etc.) with producer/producer Jonas Kjellgren (Carnal Forge, Centinex etc.) and features striking artwork by Travis Smith (Nevermore, Opeth, Strapping Young Lad, King Diamond, etc). Picking up where they their Shrouded Divine debut left off, Monolith is sonically and aesthetically lamenting, and is without a doubt one of 2010’s pinnacle albums. For fans of Opeth, Katatonia, Swallow The Sun etc.
