MISFIRE will be touring in support of Sympathy For The Ignorant, their thunderous debut full-length released through MNRK Heavy last month. Conjuring old-school flavored thrash metal devastation with the kind of bombastic firepower that could wake the dead, MISFIRE creates more of a racket than bands twice their size, unleashing song after song of unrelenting savagery. It’s music that could have arrived in the thrash golden age of 1986, when bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Dark Angel, and Sodom delivered crucial records. And yet MISFIRE is forward-thinking, injecting modern metal mastery into their brew for a potent and timeless sound.

“‘It’ll flatten you!,” wrote Metal Injection of Sympathy For The Ignorant. Decibel Magazine crowned it plainly, “ripping.” “Everything sounds absolutely massive here,” agreed Distorted Sound, noting, “that may well be the record’s greatest triumph… MISFIRE have been able to capture the potency of many of the genre’s most pioneering records and inject it with the kind of crisp clarity that wasn’t often available to bands back in 1986.” Added MetalSucks, “The Chicago-based three-piece create that kind of axe-blade riff savagery that makes you not give a shit if your neighbors are watching as you mosh around your living room with a bomber of High Life… Sympathy For The Ignorant, definitely lives up to its name, yanking the listener out of their mental rat race and sending them to the depths of their reptile brain via a swift kick in the ass…”

Captured in a small studio and engineered by vocalist/bassist Sean Coogan, MISFIRE’s Sympathy For The Ignorant is free from click-tracks and other unnecessary frills, projecting the purity of what three musicians raised on Pantera and the Big 4 sound like in a room together. The record is heavy, brawny, and confident, filled with the kind of earworm thrash metal riffs that sends aspiring players to the guitar store.

Sympathy For The Ignorant is available on CD, LP, cassette, and digital formats. Find ordering options at THIS LOCATION.
