Svbterranean is pleased to unveil Botched & Flailed, the scorching debut full-length from Louisville, Kentucky-based noise/metallic hardcore collective COMESS, on the eve of its official detonation.

“Full of angular guitars, tremendous low-end, and grimy dissonance, Botched & Flailed is a brooding and ugly hardcore that packs in as much punch as possible within 28 minutes,” notes Svbterranean, furthering, “Think of the unpredictable chaos of Coalesce crossed with the noisy grooves of Will Haven and you get a basic idea of the violence that awaits you.”

COMESSBotched & Flailed was captured by Tom Curtis of Dead Bird Studios in Louisville, Kentucky and mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Full of Hell, Vallenfyre) at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon, and spews forth over twenty-seven minutes of dissonant, nihilistic, audio bedlam.

COMESS will bring their sonic abrasions to the stage in the coming weeks with additional live dates in the plotting stages. Stay alert.

COMESS is a heavy music project from Louisville, Kentucky. The band formed in late 2016, striving to create the most aggressive music to come out of the state. From their chaotic live performances, to their eerie, throat-slashing recordings, they found the name COMESS – a word defined as a confusing or noisy situation – to be a perfect fit. In February 2018, COMESS joined Jarvis Booking And Management spearheaded by John Jarvis of Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Scour and more. Stay tuned for COMESS to obliterate a town near you.

“It’s been a stacked year for hardcore releases, and we’re not even halfway through 2018. High profile releases from Harm’s Way, Turnstile and more, plus smaller acts like Hell To Pay, Svalbard and Homewrecker, have all come out, but bands like COMESS remind us that there’s still plenty of time left. Case in point: Botched & Flailed.” — Decibel

“Their sound is one of Meshuggah meets Trap Them fronted by Randy Blythe. The music is highly dark and aggressive, expecially when it comes to the vocals; and the result is far more extreme than anything from Converge or even Wolf King. Even so, the djenty hooks of ‘Pit Dweller’ and mathcore noodling of ‘Disact’ and ‘Deracinate’ draw enough comparisons to keep this album from cleanly falling into any other category. Bottom line: difficult to classify.” — Metal Trenches
