Friday, April 30th, 2010

Southern Lord Recordings is proud to re-unleash the long out-of-print GOATSNAKE album Flower Of Disease!

The third official release from the almighty GOATSNAKE, this slick, thunderous eight-song slab of doom was initially released in 2000 on the now defunct Man’s Ruin label, with Southern Lord handling the vinyl release. After lying dormant without an official pressing of the album in over eight years, the ‘Lord now officially brings the album back to the masses on both CD and LP formats.

Recorded at Hollywood’s Grand Master Studios, and engineered by Nick Raskulinecz (Danzig, Foo Fighters, Probot, Alice In Chains), Flower Of Disease showcased GOATSNAKE elevating their already professional songwriting to new levels, deeply stirring those already following the act’s every move and vacuuming in new countless new fans. This is “the release” that would solidify the GOATSNAKE name as one of the top bands of the ’90s stoner/doom movement.

The GOATSNAKE lineup on Flower Of Disease features members Greg Anderson (SUNN O))), Thorr’s Hammer, Southern Lord Recordings), Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool, Desert Sessions), Greg Rogers (The Obsessed), and Stuart Dahlquist (Burning Witch, Asva), as well as guest contributions from Petra Haden and Dave Catching (Eagles of Death Metal, QOTSA, Mondo Generator).

GOATSNAKE recently floored a sold-out audience at their first show in over five years at 2010’s Roadburn Festival earlier this month in Tilburg, Holland. Check out killer new live footage of the band performing “Flower of Disease” from their Roadburn appearance here:

Death Metal Supergroup CRUCIFYRE Joins The Pulverised Roster

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Pulverised Records is proud to welcome Stockholm, Sweden’s CRUCIFYRE to their prestigious underground roster. Formed in 2006, the band features the crushing lineup of vocalist Erik Tormentor Sahlström (General Surgery, Maze Of Torment, Serpent Obscene et al), guitarists TG (The Sun, Morbid) and Urban Skytt (Crematory, Regurgitate, Nasum), bassist Henrik Doltz Nilsson (Dobermann Cult) and drummer Yasin Hillborg (Afflicted).

Commented Hillborg of the signing: “Working with Pulverised  feels great. It’s like we’ve come home and have been given the chance to do what we do best: deliver auditory terror in the most evil and aggressive way.”

Added Pulverised label manager Roy Yeo: “With present and past members from such highly respected bands, it is really interesting to see what these guys could come up with. I can only say that the debut album has exceeded my expectations! CRUCIFYRE is exactly the kind of band that displayed the attitude of those early demo bands and with the integral nastiness that death metal should be known for.”

CRUCIFYRE’s debut full-length will be released via Pulverised Records later this year. Further info to follow….

FEAR FACTORY Announce More American Dates
“Final Exit” To Impact Radio Week Of May 17

FEAR FACTORY has confirmed an additional week of dates to the recently announced second leg of their American Fear Campaign tour. Set to begin May 14 in Tucson, initial weeks will feature FEAR FACTORY with Prong, Thy Will Be Done and Silent Civilian with the final week finding All That Remains replacing Prong for the northern run of dates. Continuing to tour in support of their latest release, Mechanize, the tour introduces the album’s third single, the controversial album closer “Final Exit.”

“Final Exit” is expected to follow the success of earlier metal radio singles “Powershifter” and “Fear Campaign.” Already playing via three of AOL Radio’s online music channels, the single is planned to impact on May 17. FEAR FACTORY have done two special edits of the 8:11 minute song with hopes to position the song for breakout play on the country’s larger Active Rock stations. Vocalist Burton C. Bell recently commented, “Dino and I have created the edits to condense the song into a time specific for radio. We are very happy fans are loving the song for it is one that touches upon the importance of the freedom of choice and personal liberty that all human beings should be allowed. The song hopefully will create awareness for the support group Final Exit Network,” the song’s namesake. Passionately he continued, “the right to life extends beyond life itself. If the medical community cannot, and will not find a cure due to cost effectiveness, then humanity needs the choice of a dignified, self deliverance from continual, painful treatments from debilitating disease. We have been contacted by many fans who connect with this song on many levels, and with ‘Final Exit’ being played on the radio, we hope others will also become aware, understand, and enjoy this song.”

FEAR FACTORY just completed eight dates supporting Metallica in Europe. The short tour followed the band’s successful performance at Revolver Magazine’s Golden God Awards in Los Angeles on April 8, scheduled for television broadcast via VH1 on May 22.

MASTER: Tenth Studio Album Streaming In Its Entirety Via Revolver Magazine

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Death metal legends MASTER will release their long-anticipated tenth studio album entitled The Human Machine in North America on May 25th… but you can listen to it its entirety now thanks to the fine folks at Revolver Magazine. Check it out here:

The Human Machine is an inexorable train ride of old-fashioned jarring death/thrash riffs and crust-inspired attitude with the leathery gargle of mainman Paul Speckmann leading the charge. Recorded at Shaark Studios (Root, Fleshless, etc) in Bzenec, Czech Republic with Speckmann at the producing helm, The Human Machine heeds to no trends or rules and finds the shamefully unsung outfit at their most devouring.

In addition, the disc features stunning cover art by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sigh, Anacrusis et.) and will be available in a standard version and an alternate slipcase version with different artwork. Said Kantor of the decision to do two covers: “The basic idea is to have a continuation of the story told in the real front cover, after the two policemen picked up the criminal from the floor. It’s a lot simpler; it’s a brand new image that will add value to this limited edition, and at the same time it reacts naturally with the real cover and the overall theme carried throughout the album, as this album has a specific subject matter and the ‘arrest’ scene is based on Paul’s original idea.” (Both covers can be viewed via the Revolver link above.)

The Human Machine will be released via Pulverised Records.

“Dragging its venomous oldschool intent like a caveman with his club, MASTER are proudly living up to their name and taking their place among death metal’s founding fathers.” – Terrorizer

“For all those who like their daily dose of death metal raw and without frills – here’s your breakfast. Paul Speckmann and his boys deliver once more a good portion of straight forward Death Metal, stripped to the bone, without any fripperies. Well done!” – Rock Hard

“In an era where so much ‘death metal’ is overproduced, sanitized or mixed with something that ends in ‘core,’ it’s nice to have something as ugly and nasty as MASTER. It’ll put hair on your chest. It’ll scare all the kiddies in the Suicide Silence shirts.” – Metal Maniacs

Paul Speckmann – Vocals, Bass
Alex Nejezchleba – Guitars
Zdenek Pradlovsky – Drums

An Update From WEEDEATER

“Hey all, We have some good news and (as per usual) some bad news. First, the good news; it was an amazing tour! Thanks to all the people who came out and supported us and the other bands on all three legs of this trek (big hails to ASG, US Christmas, Black Cobra, Black Tusk, The Gates of Slumber, Struck by Lightning and Sack Wild!) and thanks to all the great clubs and promoters who helped to make everything so awesome for all of us. Now for the bad news: Keko has just torn his meniscus to the point of immobility and needs immediate orthopedic surgery on his knee. Consequently, we regret to say that we must once again postpone the recording session at EA and the surrounding live performances in April and May. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to all involved and will notify you ASAP regarding rescheduling. Thanks for your patience and understanding and please wish Keko a speedy recovery. Keko goes in for surgery next week and we’ll know more then, but as it stands the June – July European tour is still 100% on. More news soon but that’s all for now. — WEEDEATER”
