Nashville-based trio, YAUTJA, formed by members of Coliseum, Gnarwhal and Nameless Cults, will blast their Songs Of Descent debut into the public in less than three weeks, as Forcefield Records prepares to leak the LP to the population on February 11th.
A pulverizing, hook-laden, genre-mangling assault, Songs Of Descent bleakly unloads thirty-seven minutes of grind-infused, mega-amplified hardcore with brutalizing sludge-heavy production, recorded at Dark Art Studios with Mikey Allred (Inter Arma, Across Tundras, Hellbender). Eager to transport some of YAUTJA‘s seething riffery out to the public early, VICE Magazine’s music channel, Noisey, is hosting the village-leveling, nearly seven-minute long track, “Faith Resigned.” Now fully hooked on the band’s brute riffery, the text the Noisey crew posts with the song states, “YAUTJA incorporate imperial sludge riffs ala Neurosis with grind, math, crust and more. You’d think a mish-mash of influence like that would be jarring, but YAUTJA feels a lot more organic than their description leads on. Especially live. Where they rip. Think Inter Arma without the southern bent and with more grind instead of black metal.”
Hit play on “Faith Resigned” RIGHT HERE.
Lambgoat also recently released “Concrete Tongue” from the album over HERE.
Forcefield Records will release Songs Of Descent via download and 12″ LP, the digital version mastered by Mikey Allred and the vinyl mastered by Zack Allen of Obsidian Eye Studios (Loss, Recluse, Sky Burial). Before the record even hits the streets, YAUTJA will, as the embark on another new live excursion supporting the release. Beginning February 1st the crew will rip through the eastern half of the country with shows across the Midwest, Northeast and back down the East Coast, ending with a hometown Songs Of Descent record release show back in Nashville on February 16th.
