THE ATLAS MOTH begin their newest tour excursion this week, taking their ambidextrous avant-doom back to the streets for more than a month.
The Chicago-based unit THE ATLAS MOTH will take their genre-bending cacophony of psychedelic-gone-homicidal metallic thunder to the American masses once again. They kick off their extensive Spring touring circuit with a short string of Midwest shows alongside Wolvhammer, on their way to align with the other killer bands culminated in the massive Metalliance tour, where THE ATLAS MOTH will join Howl, Red Fang, Kylesa, Crowbar, Saint Vitus and Helmet for over three weeks, including a special stop at SXSW where Weedeater, Witchburn and more will join that day’s stop of the tour.

The debut full-length from THE ATLAS MOTH — their engulfing A Glorified Piece Of Blue Sky opus, released by Candlelight Records in 2009 — took open-minded fans of heavy music by storm, taking the band’s already heavy/heady doom metal to vast new areas of exploration. The meaty five-member lineup brings drums, bass, and three guitars into the mix, with all of the members contributing vocals, backed with tons of immense looping effects and artistry, boasting their already immense hymns with pummeling ferocity in the live setting.
THE ATLAS MOTH are deep in the process of writing and recording their next album; taking time out of formulating the album to hit the road on the announced tour schedule. While no details on the release are not confirmed at press time, the album will be completed in the coming months, set for release later this year. Stay tuned for more news in the coming weeks.
