Behold! The thirteenth annual STONER HANDS OF DOOM Fest is upon us.
STONER HANDS OF DOOM is one of the premier annual gatherings for underground heavy/stoner/doom music in North America. SHOD has been held annually since 1999 in various small venues throughout the US. Many acts are unsigned/unreleased and many travel thousands of miles to gather in the name of rock. The concept was dreamed up by promoters Rob and Cheryl Levey, who have planned, booked and organized it since its inception. Under their guidance, the festival affectionately known as SHOD has grown over the last decade from a one-day event to a weekend-long gathering, featuring over three dozen bands!
This year’s event, now run by Brendan Burns, will be held at Strange Matter in Richmond, Virginia from Thursday November 7 through Sunday November 10th. Band’s scheduled to play this year’s installment include: Devil To Pay, Akris, Wizard Eye, Black Thai, Stone Magnum, Lord, Kin Of Ettins, Faces Of Bayon, Destroyer Of Light, Blind Horse, Compel, Pillbuster, Dirt Merchant, Clamfight, Gritter, Druglord, A.P.F., Order Of The Owl, Weed Is Weed, Gozu, Doctor Smoke, Freedom Hawk, Fire Faithful, Demonaut, Pike Possum, It’s Not Night: It’s Space, While Heaven Wept, Backwoods Payback, Valkyrie, Pale Divine, Admiral Browning, Beelzefuzz, Wasted Theory, Grel, Second Grave, Heavy Burner, Oberon and Vrsa.
