Initiates Of The Great Work is the impending new full-length from extreme metal collective QUINTA ESSENTIA. Set for release July 29th via Deathgasm Records, the engrossing, ten-track offering, and first since 2008’s Deathgasm/Ibex Moon-issued Archetypal Transformation, was recorded and engineered by former drummer Lance Wright (former touring drummer for Vile, guitarist for Epoch Of Unlight et al) at Stargate Studios in Huntsville, Alabama and mixed by Wright and Colin Davis (Vile).
In advance of its release, today No Clean Singing offers up fifth movement, “Mystical Union,” for public consumption, issuing of the track, “While QUINTA ESSENTIA incorporates a lot of stylistic variety into this new album, ‘Mystical Union’ honors hallmarks of epic, traditional heavy metal within the turbocharged framework of melodic death metal. The song leaps forward at a romping pace, propelled by hard-jabbing riffs, militaristic double-kicks, and rapidly pulsing bass notes, with harsh, leonine howls that rise up into shrieks of murderous rage. But what really sets the song apart are the scintillating dual-guitar harmonies and eye-opening solos. In fact, the last two minutes of the song are essentially devoted to an extended, multi-part solo that ranges from the fluidly melodic to the superheated heights of fire-breathing shred.”

Forged in 2004, QUINTA ESSENTIA is a North American extreme metal band from the Southern United States. Since their earliest beginnings, the band’s lyrical direction has been focused around the ethereal dark matter background holding the celestial bodies into place, as well as touching on subjects revolving around transcendence, philosophy, and mysticism. The steps of the alchemical transformation and the changing of the material existence into one of growth and transformation has played a large role in themes while also hinting at the cover up of the true human potential.
