MORGOTH: Ever since Century Media reissued MORGOTH‘s 1991 offering Cursed in 2006, in addition to the “Best Of” compilation release a year earlier, constant rumors have circulated about an actual MORGOTH return. Those rumors have finally come to fruition and the German death metal squadron will actively celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original release of Cursed by playing PARTY.SAN OA 2011 (among other carefully chosen summer festivals)! The setlist will mainly consist of songs from their pivotal debut as well as some cuts from the classic 1989/1990 EPs Resurrection Absurd and The Eternal Fall. The band’s lineup for these special shows is nearly confirmed and will include vocalist Marc Grewe, guitarists Harry Busse and Sebastian Swart, bassist Thilo Mellies as well as a great drummer, soon to be announced. Grewe comments: “Throughout the next months we will make sure to prepare a great show for us all to celebrate together in 2011. ABOUT PARTY.SAN: PARTY.SAN is an annual metal festival founded in 1996 as an open air birthday party with several local bands. Due to troubles with the public order office the official open air, called Endsommer-Festival, had to be delayed from August to September. Nevertheless the first festival took place unofficially in August, thus there were two open air festivals that year. In the years to follow, festival was held the second weekend in August and has grown to accommodate more than 10,000 visitors and prides itself on showcasing extreme metal’s finest acts. PARTY.SAN 2011 will run from August 11 – 13, 2011 at Flugplatz Obermehler in Schlotheim, Germany.
