The Eternal Fanfare from black metal soloist HULDER is officially available on vinyl via 20 Buck Spin!
With the release of her Godslastering: Hymns Of A Forlorn Peasantry full-length, HULDER made it known that the pure traditional black metal of earlier releases could be classical, rich in detail and creatively novel once again. A triumphant debut that indicated much more to come. On The Eternal Fanfare, initially released on CD and digitally to critical acclaim July 1st, HULDER expands the scope laid out on her Godslastering: Hymns Of A Forlorn Peasantry debut, taking the production value to new places with more low-end depth and forceful resonance. The songwriting capability continues to sharpen into a dense confluence of her disparate influences such as on the cinematically expansive “Burden Of Flesh And Bone” and “Sylvan Awakening” to the cold stormblast ferocity of the title track. Opener “Curse From Beyond” is a celestial atmospheric piece akin to Dead Can Dance at their most mysteriously plaintive while the pensive lament of closer “A Perilous Journey” concludes The Eternal Fanfare with an aura of melancholic finality.

“Boasting newly augmented low-end and bellowing forth in the classic second-wave of European black metal style, this mini-LP serves as a divergent interlude between underground smash Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry and her forthcoming LP on 20 Buck Spin, marking a crucial chapter in an ever-evolving soundscape.” – Decibel
“In a metal world dominated by niche scenes and a slowly eroding core of legacy acts, a band like HULDER plays a vital role — providing tunes of the highest quality within her niche — as we enter an uncertain musical future. As a quick listen will tell you, her niche is straightforward, raw black metal. And as a dedicated listen will tell you, it’s some of the very best black metal being made today.” – Metal Injection
“…noticeably more furious and wilder than any previous HULDER material.” — Blabbermouth
“…dark, evil, tornadic black metal…” – BrooklynVegan
“HULDER certainly knows how to deliver a forceful, tightly woven black metal album… The Eternal Fanfare shows that injecting a more robust production doesn’t take away from the general necro vibe, and that – done right – there’s still vitality in a sound folks starting railing against almost as soon as it came out.” – Nine Circles
“The quality of the craftsmanship, the execution of simple ideas with a great deal of tact, is what makes it an exceptional experience…” – Grizzly Butts
“The songs are frosted and rich, offering a substantive journey into deep blackened waters that range from the beautiful and sublime, to the downright menacing.” — Wonderbox Metal
Hulder – guitars, bass, keys, vocals
Phil Tougas – guitar solo on “Burden Of Flesh And Bone”
Necreon – drums
CK – drums on “Sylvan Awakening”
