FREEDOM HAWK: Virginian Riff Dealers Announce Northeast Tour With Colossus; Band Welcomes New Guitarist + New Material In The Works

DCIM100GOPRO

Virginian heavy rockers FREEDOM HAWK will kick off a mini Northeast tour next month. The six-date Into Your Mind journey will commence on October 11th in Washington D.C. alongside King Giant and Serpents Of Secrecy. From there, the band will join North Carolina’s Colossus for five more shows through October 16th in Richmond, Virginia. The trek marks the band’s first appearances with new guitarist Brendan O’Neil.

Issues the band, “After being quiet for a while after last year’s European tour, we have now worked new guitarist Brendan O’Neil from the thrash band Pestilence Choir into the fold to round us out as a four-piece once again. We’ve also been been busy writing new material. We’re taking a short pause from writing to return to the road for a very short tour run around the Northeast accompanied by our metal maniac mates in Colossus. We have exciting news coming up … 2017 is looking bright!”

Emanating from the barrier dunes of Virginia, FREEDOM HAWK‘s heavy riffs, rolling groove, and soulful guitar melodies fuse together to produce a sound that is distinctly their own. The band’s brand of heavy rock capitalizes on the best of the heavy ’70s, but presents a fuzzy take that’s modern and based around quality songwriting rather than style-over-substance retro posturing.

FREEDOM HAWK will be touring in support of their Into Your Mind full-length, released last year via Small Stone. More Fuzz dubbed the record the, “epitome of pure grade rock n’ roll, Maximum Volume Music crowned it,complex and magnificent,” while The Sludgelord applauded the band’s “immense riffs and licks, explosive drumming, engaging vocals and solid bass playing” Fans of Clutch, Fu Manchu, Crobot, Black Sabbath, Grand Funk, Greenleaf, Lord Fowl, Gozu, Lo-Pan, ASG, and all things that rawk, pay heed.
