Copenhagen-based hardcore quintet EYES will release their second LP, Congratulations, in less than two weeks through Indisciplinarian and Nefarious Industries.
Congratulations is a further development of EYES’ sound and style with the band focusing on melody, off kilter hooks and deep grooves, shaping an unpredictable, caustic, and infectious album. The record’s ten songs were produced by Jacob Bredahl (LLNN, Lifesick) and the cover art handled by Jon Gotlev (noheroes.dk).
EYES continues booking new live shows supporting Congratulations, today announcing the Scandinavian World Tour dates throughout April and May, in addition to their previously announced release show in Copenhagen on February 3rd, and a performance at this year’s Bloodstock Festival in the UK August 10th-13th. See all currently confirmed dates below and watch for additional updates to be announced in the weeks ahead.
Additionally, EYES today also announces the band’s upcoming Gimme Metal guest DJ session next Monday, January 30th. Tune in to gimmemetal.com (desktop or app) at 12pm PT/3pm ET to check it out.
Congratulations will be released February 3rd on LP, CD, CS, and digital formats. EYES’ new album is titled Congratulations, even though there isn’t currently much to cheer about. Distrust among people and conspiracy theories, war and environmental catastrophe on the horizon, economic downfall and increasing inequality. The Western world anno. 2023 is the foundation of Congratulations and its volatile, confrontational songs. Opposite the internalized themes of their prior album, Underperformer, the doubting self-reflection has now turned into anger and a feeling of powerlessness towards a world where the rich get richer and living conditions are worsened for everyone else. A world, where the younger generations are abandoned again and again. A world, where the only available distraction is to scream into an infinite digital void or to find an alternative reality while looking down on the so-called sheep following the flock and false prophets.
