The manic noise rock merchants in Detroit’s CHILD BITE will kick off an epic run of live takeovers in support of their recently-issued Negative Noise full-length. The live debauchery begins this evening with the first of two hometown record release shows at the Majestic Café and Sanctuary respectively. Cost of entry includes a copy of the new album on vinyl (limited to 50), CD, or cassette.

The Negative Noise celebrations will fester for nearly two more months as the perpetually road-bound sound eccentrics traverse North America with an included stomp through Mexico later this month before nearly three dozen shows opening for the mighty Voivod alongside labelmates King Parrot as well as additional one-off shows scattered during and following the tour’s conclusion. The latest bout of dates follows the band’s recent performance at this year’s Detroit Music Awards. Check out footage from last week’s event below:

“Myself and the other three morally-grounded-yet-uniquely-flawed man-boys known as CHILD BITE are chomping at the proverbial bit to put a major dent in our new van’s odometer in the name of Negative Noise,” comments vocalist Shawn Knight of the upcoming infiltration. “First, we’ve got two hometown record release shows happening this weekend that we’re trying to pressure our friends into attending. Next, we take off the very next day, which happens to be my wife’s birthday (I know, I am the worst), to head down to Uncle Phil’s infamous Nodferatu’s Lair to record a few brand new songs for future Housecorian split 7″s. After a mere forty-eight hours in New Orleans, we haul ass to San Antonio where some Mexican dudes that we hardly know are gonna escort us deep into their mysterious country. We figured CHILD BITE should pop its Mexico cherry before Dictator Trump erects his Wall Of Fear And Racism®. A few days later, we meet up for a six-plus week-long tour with our Australian pals King Parrot and the most appropriate band for CHILD BITE to tour with ever, Voivod. Holy hell. To anxiety… and beyond!”

Negative Noise is out now on Housecore Records. The traumatizing, forty-seven-minute offering was produced by label head Philip H. Anselmo, mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer), and is where the Venn diagram of Black Flag, Voivod, and The Jesus Lizard truly overlaps. With twelve tracks of the bands distinct brand of chaotic, noisy apocalyptic sound Negative Noise represents all the weirdness that has made CHILD BITE so great over their hard years on the road.

“…an adventurous slice of loud rock…They have the aggressive force of hardcore, but it’s filtered through grimy noise rock…Negative Noise showcases a band firing on all cylinders.” – New Noise Magazine

“…an all-over-the-place shitstorm of punk/hardcore, metal, noise/post rock, prog and even surf music in Brandon Sczomak’s shrill guitar jangle…it sounds sorta like someone stuffed Mr. Bungle/Fantomas, Voivod, old Clutch (especially in Shawn Knight’s husky baritone and seemingly extemporaneous delivery), Black Flag and The Jesus Lizard into a blender, pushed ‘grind’ and then forget to turn it off.” – KNAC

“Negative Noise possesses a brilliance and individuality all its own and is a refreshing breath of fetid air in an era saturated with a d-beat-only approach to punk and hardcore.” – No Clean Singing

“…an album to be played loud to truly let the intense vibe of the record run as free as the band intended it to be.” – Echoes And Dust

“…one of those rare albums without a single weak spot. Killer stuff from start to finish.” – Rock Shock Pop

“…one of the most exciting bands in rock and roll today.” – Two Guys Metal Reviews
