Presenting The Hawkwind Triad – HARVESTMAN, U.S. CHRISTMAS & MINSK

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

To see official release this May via Neurot Recordings, the Hawkwind Triad album is a fitting tribute to the British band that somehow seems to simultaneously remain unknown to the majority of the world’s rock listeners, while also standing as one of the most influential psychedelic bands of all time.

The Triad is unique, as it is an album of covers by three separate artists that essentially flows like an album. Each band — HARVESTMAN (Steve Von Till of NEUROSIS’ psych guitar based project), MINSK, and U.S. CHRISTMAS — have approached these 11 iconic songs with respect, but each have also recognized the need for the songs to be reinterpreted in a new space and time. The result is a full-length psychedelic feast that not only captures the feel of Hawkwind’s individual songs, but also has the feel of their classic albums. Even the artwork by Boston artist Thomas Saraceno appropriately provides trippy surrealist scenes fitting to many albums from the 70s. Most of all, the Triad was done out of pure veneration for a band than laid a solid foundation for every heavy, trippy, weirdo band that exists now – as well as for those who will freak out in the future.

Hawkwind Triad Tracklist:
U.S. Christmas – “Master of the Universe”
MINSK – “7×7″
HARVESTMAN – “Down Through The Night”
MINSK – “Assault and Battery/The Golden Void”
U.S. Christmas – “Psychedelic Warlords”
MINSK – “Children of the Sun”
U.S. Christmas – “Orgone Accumulator”
HARVESTMAN – “The Watcher”
U.S. Christmas – “You Shouldn’t Do That”

Black/death metallers CONSPIRACY recently issued the following album update: “The third album of CONSPIRACY is ready. I wait for Dan Seagrave to come up with the concept of the cover art. This time the album wasn’t done by me alone. I am happy to collaborate with a genius guitarist and composer Arian Blaze, who helped to orchestrate and contributed his virtuosity to make the tracks even more interesting. There are six black metal songs, one classical piece and three heavy metal songs. ‘Bukovina’ and ‘Irremediable’ – are the dark heavy metal opuses. Yes, yes, I know, the vocal sounds like King Diamond. Why not? Some other bands used this vocal technique in the past too.

Some so-called ‘reviewers’ criticized me for the material on the previous album, because it was ‘too different’ and they found it impossible to judge. The songs on the new album are even more diverse than before. This is my answer to those who want to hear all the same riffs, concepts and lyrics year after year. Enjoy the new songs and don’t hesitate to leave a comment. I will update you on the release date as soon as I know it. Take care, — Carpathian Wolf, CONSPIRACY”

New NECROPHOBIC Video Unleashed; Band To Play Maryland Deathfest 2010

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Stockholm’s blackened death metal warriors NECROPHOBIC have just launched a brand new video for the song “Revelation 666”, taken from their latest masterpiece Death To All!

NECROPHOBIC are one of very few bands left from the early Swedish black/death metal underground scene that is still going strong. Sharing members of Nifelheim, Trident and more the band are considered a cult act from the old days, yet also remain a potent source for inspiration for today’s scene. “Revelation 666″ – the track this brutal new video accompanies – was described by Outburn Magazine as “…an awesome flurry of charred, angel stabbing thrash/death with a manic chorus and an epic outro”.

The NECROPHOBIC crew will also be storming American shores this May as part of the almighty Maryland Deathfest, appearing alongside Watain, Possessed, Autopsy, Sodom, Obituary, Entombed and countless other top legendary and contemporary metal acts. Check the full lineup at:

After nearly 20 years of existence and five very successful full-length albums NECROPHOBIC raises the flag of hate once again. It’s time to show the world their brand new album Death To All! It’s not just a title, it’s a statement!

“…this one is a blast to endure and best played at maximum volume for the ultimate near-death experience. Thrash-influenced Swedish guitar riffs fill this disc to overflowing…” - SOD Magazine

“Death to All follows in the hoofprints of 2006’s Hrimthursum, hitching a bulletproof blackthrash rhythm section to Dissection’s obsidian guitar tonalities. Necrophobic’s attack has gotten sharper with age, their songs ever stronger.” - Decibel Magazine

“…the band’s undiminished passion for their demonic art bursts forth like that of most satanic metal whippersnappers half their age, which should guarantee Necrophobic’s ability to keep bringing Death to All ages of extreme metal fans for many years to come.” – All Music Guide
