Ottawa, Ontario’s infectious punk quartet ZEX has issued an official video for “Steel Gates,” the track found on the band’s second LP, Uphill Battle.
Uphill Battle is the second ZEX LP, the follow-up to Fight For Yourself finding the band continuing on seamlessly with the classic melodic punk rock approach featured on all previous output. With ten new tracks recorded at Apartment 2 Recording by Topon Das, Uphill Battle was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. ZEX‘s new “Steel Gates” video has been premiered through No Echo, who has also posted a brief interrogation with the band.

The album is dedicated to the memory of the band’s ex-drummer Vassil Mester who passed away shortly after their Southeast Asian and Australian tour in 2015. Mark Useless (Who Killed Spikey Jacket?, D-Sagawa, Cinderblock, Dropkick Murphys) is ZEX‘s new permanent drummer since November 2016.

ZEX has played one hundred-sixty shows in twenty-two countries on every continent except for Africa and Antarctica. Following their latest European tour earlier this year, ZEX now announces new US tour dates, leading with a one-off show in Albany, New York on August 25th. Fall sees the band raging on the West Coast, with a run of shows from October 18th through October 29th, the final shows currently being locked up.
