WITCH VOMIT: Portland Death Metal Crew Announces US Funeral Sanctum Tour 2024 Surrounding Austin Death Fest Including Shows With Phobophilic, Mortal Wound, And More; New Album On The Horizon

Portland, Oregon death metal dealers WITCH VOMIT will launch a run of Western US dates dubbed Funeral Sanctum Tour 2024 surrounding their sets at Austin Death Fest.

WITCH VOMIT will join up with Phobophilic on April 19th and the two bands will tour through Olympia, Boise, Salt Lake City, Denver, Tulsa, Dallas, and Houston on their way to perform at the inaugural Austin Death Fest on April 27th and 28th where they’ll join Tomb Mold, Mortiferum, Outer Heaven, Sentenced 2 Die, Lunar Chamber, Maul, Civerous, Torture Rack, and more. From there, WITCH VOMIT will play Santa Fe May 1st before hooking up with Mortal Wound to play Phoenix, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Portland May 1st through 3rd, the tour ending with WITCH VOMIT playing a hometown show May 4th.

WITCH VOMIT surprise-released the Abhorrent Rapture EP through 20 Buck Spin in June of 2021. Though bands tend to simmer down as they evolve, WITCH VOMIT reverses this tendency getting only more extreme with each release; this momentum continues on Abhorrent Rapture. Like 2017’s Poisoned Blood, Abhorrent Rapture showcases WITCH VOMIT in the more immediate and intense MLP format: Four tracks in roughly eighteen minutes of pure savagery but always with that eerie mood, creeping melodic sense and grisly intimidation essential to proper death metal.

A new level of barbaric mastery was achieved on Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave, WITCH VOMIT‘s second full length from 2019. It was now undeniable that the band was not merely another “OSDM” (stale terminology) band when they had evolved a maximal and rarely achieved synthesis of European and American death metal styles into a flawless mélange of horrific gore-soaked splendor. Recorded and mixed by Evan Mersky (Triumvir Foul, Warcry), mastered by Dan Randall (Ghoul, Impaled, Ruin) with artwork by Matt Stikker (Power Trip, Outer Heaven, Apraxic), Abhorrent Rapture delivers four freshly unburied tracks from the witch vomitorium.
