Drone industrial harbingers, THEOLOGIAN, will unite ill-omened souls for harvest this weekend with two Devils Night celebrations in its hometown NYC area, as the outfit continues to expand into new realms of dementia and chaos in the process of recording new material and booking new performances for the coming months.
THEOLOGIAN and its affiliated Annihilvs Power Electronix label have cultivated a performance at Brooklyn’s Acheron this Friday, October 30th where the act will play as a trio alongside cohorts Sewer Goddess, Insect Ark, Gnaw and Kintaan, with DJ sets by Abstract fleshing out the event. Saturday, October 31st sees THEOLOGIAN officially initiating Samhain as a duo with a free, outdoor performance in the outfit’s immediate hometown of Nyack, New York. The grim gala takes place at Abandon All Hope, with the members performing live improvised drone sets in open air on the front lawn, beginning at 2pm and ending just after sundown. On this day, the line between this world and the next will be at its dimmest.
THEOLOGIAN has also confirmed a show in Wallingford, Connecticut where Decadent — featuring three original members of Capharnaum will be performing old-school Capharnaum set — with more bands to be announced. Also confirmed is Altered States in Baltimore on March 5th, an evening of musical expansion hosted by Metallomusikum.com and Crucial Blast, which will see THEOLOGIAN performing with T.O.M.B., Snakefeast, Darsombra and The Owls Are Not What They Seem.
Additional THEOLOGIAN live performances, including more widespread US tour plans in 2016, are also being devised as the collective’s current embodiment — founder Lee Bartow aka Theologian Prime, Daniel Suffering, and Dave Brenner — continues to forge the newest traumatic soundscapes. Their upcoming Contrapasso LP is under construction for release in 2016, along with other new material for various titles to be defined over the coming weeks.
