Following its initial release last year, Urraca, the debut album by Minnesota avant/tech-death trio SUNLESS, is now available on deluxe LP format through Aural Music.
Tracked by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording (The Crinn, Ambassador Gun, Maeth) in Minneapolis, and mixed/mastered by Colin Marston at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves in New York City, Urraca delivers nine tracks of SUNLESS‘ complex and dissonant style of death metal. The band self-released the album on CD, cassette, and digital platforms, which was hailed as a thought-provoking and engaging album by a wide spectrum of respected metal outlets. One year after its initial release, SUNLESS now reintroduces Urraca on vinyl through Aural Music. The LP version of Urraca is pressed in a run of 300 copies on purple vinyl housed in a deluxe gatefold cover.
SUNLESS is booking new shows for the months ahead, including a show in their hometown of Minneapolis on March 23rd with Cleric, Zebulon Pike, and Changeling. Stand by for new shows to be announced in the coming months for later this year as the band writes for their follow-up to Urraca.

Formed in 2015, SUNLESS draws influence from pioneers of extreme and dissonant metal such as Gorguts, Ulcerate, and Meshuggah, reinterpreting the sounds through an abstract lens that is all their own. Comprised of bassist Mitch Schooler (Nerves, Modulus), drummer Ben Iburg (Not From Here, The Eye Unclouded), and guitarist/vocalist Lucas Scott (Australis, Pestifere), the band features a prominent rhythm section, a scattered assortment of time signatures, interwoven and complex arrangements, and bellowing death growls, akin to the output of Baring Teeth, Artificial Brain, and Gigan.
