PHOBIA To Ravage Scion Label Showcase Later This Month; New Video Brought To You By BrooklynVegan

Renowned grindcore miscreants PHOBIA will headline this month’s Scion label showcase, set to take place on July 21 at The Glass House in Pomona, California. The special Moshpit Tragedy event will also include appearances from Morne, Total F*Cking Destruction, Skarp, and Seas Will Rise. The show is an all-ages matinee and entry is FREE with your RSVP at THIS LOCATION.

Comments vocalist Shane Mclachlan “This is an amazing lineup! Reserve your spot now for this brutal free show. We don’t play Southern California that much so now’s the perfect time for a dose of grind.”

In related news, today BrooklynVegan presents the latest video for “Contradiction/Submission Hold,” two tracks from PHOBIA‘s Remnants Of Filth full-length released through Willowtip Records on June 5. The clip – which includes a glut of disturbing images set to the bludgeoning sounds of audio destruction – was directed by MetalInjection’s Frank Huang and can be viewed at THIS LOCATION.

Remnants of Filth easily stands as one of the most furious releases in the band’s iconic discography. Produced and mixed by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed) Remnants of Filth features eighteen socio-political grind hymns in about as many minutes and continues to earn critical hails from fans and critics nationally. MetalSucks commends the band noting: “PHOBIA have grindcore down, playing on the element of chaos that exists between punk and metal and volleying with ease between the two, sounding equally comfortable churning chords over d-beats and acting like machines of war over blasts,” Meat Mead Metal boasts: “This is one of grindcore’s most trustworthy and effective bands,” while Hails & Horns points out: “Remnants of Filth finds PHOBIA beginning to bring even more pure punk into their crusty cauldron of chaos with songs like ‘Resolution’ and ‘Inaction’ boasting sweaty sing-alongs and blasting.” Mouth For War agrees: “Treat your ears to some sonic love with blistering riffs, blasting rhythms and vicious growls/barks in a fashion that only these California heathens can deliver,” while Blistering adds: “The beauty of PHOBIA and Remnants of Filth lies in its predictable, yet jarring nature. You can practically look down the tracklisting and know that some kind of storm is going to be whipped up while some socio-political knowledge was going to be dropped. For that, PHOBIA will always be en vogue, the grind way.”
