Following the release of their second LP, The Gentle Indifference Of The Night, through Magic Bullet Records in May, NY IN 64 has released a new guitar playthrough video for “50 Lbs. Of Ash” through Gear Gods.
The follow-up to 2015’s self-titled debut sees New Jersey-based instrumental outfit NY IN 64 – the band formed by members of 1990s screamo act You And I and prog metal troupe East Of The Wall – pushing their sonic template to new heights, realizing an even more refined and uniquely inspired style of instrumental hardcore aggression on The Gentle Indifference Of The Night. The hooks are bigger, the musicianship has broken through the ceiling, the dynamics are deeper and far more textured. With six new movements, The Gentle Indifference Of The Night is a triumph of an album that truly sounds like no other.
The new playthrough video showcases Chris Alfano (also of East Of The Wall) laying down the varied guitar textures of the album’s standout track, “50 Lbs. Of Ash,” through a multi-angle visual depiction of the technical five-and-a-half-minute opus.

The guitars and bass for The Gentle Indifference Of The Night were recorded by Chris Alfano at Volume Fact, the drums and additional guitars recorded by John Ferrara at Portrait Recording Studios. The record was mixed by Scott Evans at Antisleep Audio, and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East, and its layout completed with photography by Justin Hock and layout by the band and Brent Eyestone.
NY IN 64 will release additional videos from The Gentle Indifference Of The Night and announce new regional tour dates in the coming weeks.
