New Jersey death metal squad NIGHTS OF MALICE are pleased to present their latest video for “Reject The Host.” Now playing at Slam Worldwide, the track comes off the band’s Chaos Exordium full-length, released last month on Bleeding Art Collective and Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast Records/Believe).

Comments vocalist Brendan McGrath, “We have been absolutely blown away with the reception we have had for the new album, from some killer reviews through to seeing people tear it up to the new songs on the [band’s recent US] Chaos & Misery Tour, it’s been an awesome experience. We worked so hard on this album and were so confident it was our best work yet, so to get that response has been really rewarding and total confirmation. We now present the next video from the album, ‘Reject The Host.’ This song captures it all! We wanted to have a blistering opening track for Chaos Exordium. In the past, we’ve always had a buildup into the first song, but this time around, we wanted something that goes from 0-100 the moment you press play.”

With a sound that is synonymous with razor sharp technical death metal riffing, monolithic groove, and rapid-fire vocal phrasing, as is signature with acts such as Psycroptic, Whitechapel, Aborted, and Archspire, NIGHTS OF MALICE is a triumphant example of the quality of acts that have emerged from the Garden State scene.

Since the band’s inception, the band has worked with the outstanding team of Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio, who have produced albums from bands such as Black Crown Initiate, August Burns Red, Rivers Of Nihil, The Ghost Inside, and many more. NIGHTS OF MALICE has once again teamed up with Atrium Audio for Chaos Exordium.

“Our goal was to make the heaviest, most intense NIGHTS OF MALICE album ever,” reflects McGrath on the creation of Chaos Exordium. “We’ve experimented with our sound in a lot of different ways, but one thing we all agree on is that we are at our best when we’re riffing all over the place. Our writing process always starts with guitar, so it comes naturally to us most of the time.

“Over the years, my lyrical themes have shifted from existential sort of themes to more horror inspired themes,” he continues. “I wanted the lyrics to bring a level of brutality that matches the music. I really tapped into my love of old school death metal, horror movies, and video games for these lyrics. It felt like the right thing to do for a record with a sound like this one.”

“A record that doesn’t just want your attention — it demands repeat listens until it’s fully absorbed into your system. Or until it breaks you. Either way works.” – Crannk

“…some of the most ferociously death-metal-centric stuff I’ve heard in recent memory. Chaos Exordium will not only further the band, but this is an album that defies all cookie-cutter templates and will garner them accolades as one of the bands that are taking things further and at a dangerously lethal new level…” – Black Metal Promotions

“Chaos Exordium ultimately works because it avoids feeling disjointed or aimless. Rather than relying on scattered highlights, NIGHTS OF MALICE maintains a consistent, tightly controlled framework built on technical precision and sustained aggression. It doesn’t attempt to redefine the band’s identity or push beyond familiar territory. Instead, it succeeds by executing its approach with discipline and conviction, reinforcing NIGHTS OF MALICE’s position within a well-established lane of modern extreme metal rather than expanding it.” – MXDWN

“Chaos Exordium does not operate as an easily consumable extreme metal record; it defines itself instead as a demanding, constantly shifting album whose intensity is constructed directly through compositional motion.” – Pit Stop Metal

“…the first deathcore release of 2026 that could potentially alter the stubborn anti-deathcore mob’s perspectives. While not symphonic, blackened, or beatdown, it’s good fun and a darling middle finger to its genre’s current state.” – Metal Temple
