MIDAS FALL: Ambient Post-Rock Duo Premieres 3D Animated Video For “Glue” At New Noise; Evaporate Full Length Nears Release Via Monotreme Records

Scottish ambient post-rock duo MIDAS FALL – Elizabeth Heaton and Rowan Burn – has undraped the captivating visual accompaniment to the track “Glue” from the band’s impending new full-length, Evaporate.

Directed and produced by Stefano Bertelli of Seenfilm (www.seenfilm.com), the stop motion video, which depicts the odyssey of a lone wolf, was created using only colored cards. 3D software was used to generate the models, and then the cards were cut with a vinyl cutter and folded to create each item in the set.

Regarding the inspiration behind the track, Heaton offers, “‘Glue’ is a song that exists in four parts and goes on a journey. Over the years, time starts to blur the edges of the situation you are in up to the point that this becomes your normality and becomes impossible to see an outside perspective. As the track unfolds, the realization is made and leads to further realization of the difficulties associated with breaking free, ultimately ending in chaos. The song gives a little nod to Ravel’s ‘Gaspard De La Nuit’ at the start before going in a more electronic direction, utilizing sparseness, beats, and synths.”

Sample previously released tracks “Dust And Bone,” “Bruise Pusher,” “Soveraine,” and Evaporate‘s title track below.

MIDAS FALL‘s Evaporate will be released worldwide by Monotreme Records on April 27th on CD and digital formats, as well as a limited pressing of 500 LPs on 180-gram vinyl (200 black and 300 clear blue/black). For preorders, visit THIS LOCATION.

Produced and recorded by Heaton in Argyll, Scotland, Evaporate shimmers with a dark, gothic grace, delicate and brutal in equal measure. From the desperate, savage cacophony of “Bruise Pusher” to the elegant ascension of “Sword To Shield,” the record conjures stunning soundscapes at every turn.

Combining elements of electronica, post-rock, and alternative with progressive and gothic undertones, MIDAS FALL has over the course of their existence carved a distinctive and captivating sound, creating taut, shimmering soundscapes led by the hauntingly melancholic vocals of Elizabeth Heaton.
