DREAMING DEAD: Guitarist/Vocalist Demos The Roland CUBE-80XL

DREAMING DEAD guitarist/vocalist Elizabeth Schall recently demoed Roland’s new CUBE-80XL amp. Said an excited Schall of the opportunity: “I had the best time putting this video together with the guys at Roland! Not only did I get to demo their new Cube amp, I also got to show off my new signature Fernandes guitar, play a bunch of material off the new DREAMING DEAD album, and take a bunch of silly and not so silly pictures.”

As previously reported, the California death metal squadron are preparing to unleash their long-awaited new full-length. The follow-up to their Within One offering, issued via Ibex Moon in 2009, is set for release later this Fall. Further details to be announced shortly. In the meantime, check out the demo version of “Midnightmares” HERE.

Tonight, DREAMING DEAD will be playing a special show opening for death metal goliaths Morbid Angel at the House Of Blues in West Hollywood. The band will be joined by fill-in guitarist Nita Straus.

In addition, DREAMING DEAD will make a live appearance at the Goregrowler’s Ball in San Antonio this November alongside Exhumed, Brutal Truth, Deceased, HOD, Lair Of The Minotaur and many others. For more info, go to THIS LOCATION.

Fronted and founded by Elizabeth Schall, DREAMING DEAD released their first recording, Through The Eyes Of Insanity, in 2006 under previous band moniker Manslaughter. Influenced by the likes of Death, Slayer, Cryptopsy and Opeth, reviews for the release were stellar, leaving listeners aching for more of the band’s blackened, death-thrash attack. “Impressive,” “devastating,” “technically precise” and “great debut” are not terms to be thrown around lightly. Within One was met with similar accolades. About.com called the record, “sometimes extreme, sometimes delicate and usually compelling,” while Blabbermouth noted: “DREAMING DEAD are on; it’s easy to see world domination in their future.” Metal Maniacs agreed calling Within One, “…a smattering of classic US DM stylings and high-velocity thrash, set the tune of Schall’s scathing vocals and surprisingly agile guitar runs.”
