BRAINOIL: Noisey Streams Resurrected Hymn From Sludge Power Trio; Tankcrimes Reissue To Drop This Fall

Oakland-grown BRAINOIL manifest true sounds of suffering churning out their own brand of heavy-as-fuck, riff fanatical sludge. As long time contributors to the underground punk and metal scenes with members having collectively done time in Laudanum, Stormcrow, Watch Them Die, Destroy!, Dead Language, Grimple, Pig Heart Transplant and more, the trio’s up-tempo crust-inspired breaks and monstrously baked breakdowns are suited for deviant souls who worship at the altars of Black Cobra, Iron Lung, Iron Monkey, Dystopia, Whitehorse, Buzzov*en and El Dopa.

This September, Tankcrimes will reissue the band’s pulverizing debut full-length. Originally unleashed via Life Is Abuse Records in 2003 but out of print for over five years, the monolithic Brainoil was recorded by Dan Rathburn at Polymorph Studios (Tragedy, His Hero Is Gone) and boasts seven predatory anthems of sonic abrasions. Said Short Fast & Loud upon its initial release, “This LP is so intense that only those with leather eardrums can survive it. …BRAINOIL are maniacal riff merchants. The sound waves they create literally have a tangible and physical presence, you more than hear them; you feel them. Hell, you can almost taste them and smell them… Only a fool would pass up this album.”

In celebration of its forthcoming second unveiling, Noisey brings you closing crusher, “Support In Numbers.” Press play and suffocate HERE.

Tankcrimes’ Brainoil reissue will be released September 14th, 2014 on CD and vinyl limited to 500 copies in two color variants: 150 – gold, bone, brown mashed vinyl and 350 – bone vinyl. All vinyl orders come with a download card to satiate your digital listening pleasures.
