After having received much praise from critics and fans worldwide and following several live appearances on their native soil, the UK psychedelic black metal ensemble A FOREST OF STARS gathered around a few cups of tea to lay down the foundations of what would be their second full-length album. Several séances in Rob Hobson’s Silent City Studio during winter of 2009 led to the recording of the fittingly titled Opportunistic Thieves of Spring, a work of magic and alchemy in the tradition of their Victorian contemporaries. Furthermore, fellow dandy John Bishop joined the Gentlemen’s Club on drums for this recording, which takes the elements brought forward on the The Corpse of Rebirth to a whole new level that will carry the listener to the worlds that lie beyond.
