Ear One Productions and Lounge SevenZeroEight Photography are casting for the second video from WHEN THE DEADBOLT BREAKS new album Drifting Toward The Edge of the Earth.

This May, American psychedelic doom masters, WHEN THE DEADBOLT BREAKS, will be teaming up with videographer Charlie Winthal once again to begin shooting the newest video for their double album masterpiece, Drifting Toward The Edge of the Earth, released in October via Ear One Productions. Following the underground success of their first video for “Sleeps in Burning Hills” [viewable HERE], also directed by Winthal, the band is gearing up to make the follow-up a true visual spectacle, for the track, “The Woods Are Full Of Killers.”

Over the years, WHEN THE DEADBOLT BREAKS guitarist/vocalist Aaron Lewis has made a name for himself as a much sought after photographer through his Lounge SevenZeroEight Photography, his works having been featured in galleries, numerous magazines as well as graced many albums’ artwork and covers. Ear One is fully behind this video again leaving full creative control to the co-directors. Singer/guitarist Aaron Lewis states; “The video idea coincides with a photo shoot I plan to do. It will be dark, and terrifying”.  Shooting begins in mid May. There will be a live video release along with a gallery showing of three epic photographic journeys shot by Lounge SevenZeroEight to be announced shortly.

Lounge SevenZeroEight Photography is seeking four female models to appear in the video and the accompanying photo shoot. The video is a horror themed jaunt, and there is some nudity. The video shoot is being scheduled for mid May, at a location in Connecticut. Interested parties contact: Please include a full body shot of yourself and any links to any modeling websites you have been featured on. Title the email “708 Video Shoot”

WHEN THE DEADBOLT BREAKS’ nearly two-hour-long 2xCD Drifting Towards The Edge Of The Earth takes the listener on an extensive, engulfing voyage through the cosmos and annals of sludge/doom; devastating amplification boasts everything the talented members can create; mournful segues, booming classic rock ballad riffs, mystical and melodic interludes and straightforward, thunderous riffage coalesce into an exceptionally diverse album fans of Sleep, YOB, Ufomammut, Samothrace, Ramesses, frontman Aaron Lewis’ previous act, Cable, should not miss.

Harley’s War Continues… New York Hardcore Legend HARLEY FLANAGAN Recording New LP For Southern Lord

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

New York Hardcore icon, HARLEY FLANAGAN, is currently in the process of recording his newest LP, to be released on Southern Lord later this year.

With his musical roots tracing back to the beginning of the 1980s, FLANAGAN was involved in NYC punk act, The Stimulators, before even hitting his teens. In the mid-‘80s he founded the legendary hardcore/crossover act, The Cro-Mags, directly after which the band releasing their seminal Age Of Quarrel LP. At the beginning of the millennium, the artist formed his own HARLEY’S WAR and released their debut album, Cro-Mag, in 2002. FLANAGAN and several other players recently started laying down the basic tracks for the impending yet-to-be-named album, which will close the extensive twelve-year gap since the band’s initial works were released, and will undoubtedly be one of the premiere hardcore/punk releases of the year.

Issued FLANAGAN on signing with Southern Lord and the ongoing recording process of the new material, “I think that this is some of the hardest stuff I have written in a long time. God knows there has been a lot of inspiration over the last few years.” Southern Lord owner Greg Anderson this week stated on the upcoming release, “The demos we have heard thus far are incredible!  We’re really looking forward to hearing this when it’s completed.”

FLANAGAN is a black belt under Renzo Gracie and teaches at the Renzo Gracie academy in NYC, as well as having a book and several other projects in the works.

THEOLOGIAN: Crucial Blast To Release Deluxe Vinyl Edition Of Some Things Have To Be Endured

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

Following its initial CD and digital release in October, THEOLOGIAN’s latest full-length, Some Things Have To Be Endured, will receive a deluxe vinyl release from Crucial Blast on July 22nd, 2014. This new LP edition of the album will come in gatefold packaging and feature completely different artwork from the CD version previously released by Crucial Blast, using the evocative and disturbing images of NY photographer Gretchen Heinel. The vinyl will be pressed on blood-red wax in an edition of five hundred copies, and will include a digital download of the album.

Magick. Motherhood. Pain. Suffering.
Blood. Tension. Nausea. Desire.
Obsession. Addiction. Loathing. Violence.
The loss of hope. Unfulfilled dreams. Unhealed wounds.

The latest offering from NY synth-death master THEOLOGIAN (aka Leech, also the mastermind behind the renowned power electronics/death industrial outfit Navicon Torture Technologies), Some Things Have To Be Endured features eight new tracks of punishing black industrial, apocalyptic darkwave frequencies, and nerve-rending electronic deathscapes. Endured… is a collection of collaborations between Theologian and a lineup of female vocalists/artists from both within the industrial / noise / dark ambient / coldwave realm and beyond, with contributions from Rachael Kozak (Hecate), Kristen MacArthur (Sewer Goddess), Rachel Maloney (Tonikom), Nikki Telladictorian (Prometheus Burning), Patricia Benitez (Fetish Drone), Gillian Leigh Bowling (Teloahqaal), Christiana Key (Delphic Oracle), Joan Hacker (Factoria), Shari Vari (Void Vision), and professional opera singer Melissa C. Kelly. The tracks shift from grinding industrial dread to ethereal coldwave beauty, blasts of rumbling blackened synthcrush met with washes of haunting electronic melody, while always remaining rooted in Theologian’s bleak, jet-black death industrial. Co-produced with Derek Rush/Dream Into Dust and mastered by James Plotkin, Some Things Have To Be Endured contains some of the most moving and dramatic music to emerge from THEOLOGIAN’s black sonic abyss to date.

1. Black Cavern Myopia
2. The Conjoined Deviant Procession
3. Writhing Corpus Landscape
4. Gore-Stained Ramparts
5. Like Love, Only Real
6. Grand Guignol
7. Ectothermism
8. Welcome To The Golden Age Of Beggars

Leech will unleash THEOLOGIAN live once again over the coming weeks, with several new gigs confirmed around the country. A Brooklyn show with Queen Elephantine and Prana-Bindu has been slated for this week, on Sunday, April 20th. On May 3rd he’ll perform in Baltimore alongside Worms Of The Earth and Crucial Blast kin, T.O.M.B., and then on the 5th attack Brooklyn once again on a massive bill also including Gnaw and Whitehorse. Then on May 24th, THEOLOGIAN will traverse the country to invade Portland, performing that evening with Eight Bells, LKN and Eye Of Nix.

“Leech has crafted a monstrous, ghastly album of lurching rhythms and totally downer melodies – think the Cure’s Pornography remixed by Vatican Shadow.” – Aquarius Records

“Wer sich als Verbündeter von Navicon Torture Technologies sieht und mit atmosphärischen wie auch rhythmischen Klangwelten konfrontiert werden möchte, der muss in diesem Fall unbedingt zuschlagen. 10/10” – Necroweb

“Not for the faint of heart or expectant mothers, Some Things Have To Be Endured is just what it’s title suggests, an exercise in endurance. It will however reward that endurance and repeated plays with an increasingly fantastic record that must have been hell to conceive, and just as difficult to physically create. But what a creation, one of stunning malevolence and bitter beauty.” – The Sludgelord

“The lo-fi, static-filled production transforms here from a black-metal requirement for authenticity to an instrument in its own right that gives the album its unique, dark sound that is somehow still akin to metal in its abrasive heaviness.” – Metal Reviews

A warning shot from Committed To The Ground, the album’s third track, “Feeding,” has been fired into the public today via Toxicbreed’s Funhouse. Listen now RIGHT HERE.

ENABLER Unloads New Track At Lambgoat; US Tour With Eyehategod & Ringworm Confirmed

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

From amidst their currently ongoing North American tour out to the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival — set to perform tomorrow, Thursday, April 17th alongside labelmates, Cop Problem — and beyond, ENABLER has been confirmed as opening support for Eyehategod and Ringworm on a bruising, month-long US tour from the end of May through late June. The trek begins just one day after both ENABLER and Eyehategod release their brand new LPs and three days after ENABLER marks their debut performance at Maryland Deathfest.

ENABLER has also just been confirmed to take part in The Fest 13 gathering in Gainesville, Florida, running from October 31st through November 2nd and including Hot Water Music, Touché Amoré, Masked Intruder and dozens of other acts. This is just one of many new tour actions to be announced as the band will be on the road virtually nonstop all year in support of their impending second LP, La Fin Absolue Du Monde.

A thirty-six minute battering of ENABLER’s most diverse and calculated material to date, La Fin Absolue Du Monde was tracked with Shane Hotchstetler at Howl Street Recordings (Expire, Northless) and mixed by Steve Austin (Today Is The Day) at Austin Enterprises. Lambgoat has premiered a brand new track from the LP, in the form of its second track, “New Life.” Unloading an immense lyrical sense of dread, loss and confusion, yet bursting with a rush of driving energy, while ENABLER’s ability to pack hooks catchier than The Black Plague into each track holds true straight to the bitter end.

Stream “New Life” via Lambgoat now at THIS LOCATION.

Also hear the previously released “Prey” at MetalSucks RIGHT HERE.

La Fin Absolue Du Monde will see release via The Compound and Creator-Destructor Records on May 27th. Currently in manufacturing at the mighty Pirates Press, the vinyl version will come in two schemes; the Creator-Destructor version in a half-and-half Grey/”Halloween Orange” pattern, and The Compound version on grey wax with heavy Black/White/”Orange Crush” splatter, each in runs of 250 copies in a wide-spine, uncoated jacket with a digital download code included. The CD will be housed with a high-quality, six-panel digipak. Preorders are available via The Compound HERE, via Creator-Destructor HERE, and digital preorders are live HERE.

INANIMATE EXISTENCE: Technical Death Metal Faction To Unleash Second LP Via Unique Leader; Album Teaser Posted

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

California technical death metal faction, INANIMATE EXISTENCE, who feature within their ranks members of Brain Drill and Son Of Aurelius, will unleash their sophomore effort, A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement, this Summer via extreme metal merchants, Unique Leader Records.

Tracked by Max Zigman (Son of Aurelius, Smaragos) at Parade Outrageous in Santa Cruz and produced by Zack Ohren (Light This City, All Shall Perish, First Blood, Cattle Decapitation, Warbringer et al) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement boasts eight conceptual tracks of progressive punishment. The follow-up to 2012’s Liberation Through Hearing, which MetalSucks championed for its “erie, psychedelic themes richly animated by the grandiose contrast between shamanic atmosphere and uncompromising brutality,” finds INANIMATE EXISTENCE’s signature, over-the-top compositions elevated to an entirely new level of profundity. Each movement marvels at its own innovative density as intricate guitar structures coil seamlessly around complex rhythms and infernal vocal tirades all the while maintaining an absorbing magnetism that draws exploratory listeners in with each new measure. The record includes several guest musicians who offer female vocal accents, clarinet, bass flute, harp, bongos and other nuances to the proceedings, only adding to the record’s already confounding depth.

A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement Track Listing:
1. Om Mani Padme Um
2. Omen
3. Bioluminescent Photophores
4. The Rune of Destruction
5. The Catacomb of Mirrors
6. Staring Through Fire
7. Out of Body Experience
8. Dueling Shadows

INANIMATE EXISTENCE’s A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement will be released on June 24th, 2014 via Unique Leader Records. Special preorder bundles will be available in the coming weeks. In the meantime, wrap your head around the album teaser below.

Cameron Porras – Guitar/Vocals
Joel Guernsey – Guitar
Ron Casey – Drums (Brain Drill)
Riley McShane – Vocals (Son Of Aurelius)
Scott Bradley – Bass

SERPENTINE PATH Debuts First Single From Sophomore Relapse LP

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

Relapse Records has just released the first single to be released from the second LP from NYC morbid sludge metal kingpins, SERPENTINE PATH.

The highly anticipated follow-up to SERPENTINE PATH’s self-titled 2012 debut, Emanations is the band’s first studio venture featuring new second guitarist Stephen Flam, the mastermind behind NYC doom/death legends, Winter — aligned with founding members Tim Bagshaw (ex-Ramesses, ex-Electric Wizard) and a triad of ex-Unearthly Trance members, bassist Jay Newman, drummer Darren Verni and vocalist Ryan Lipynsky (The Howling Wind). Capturing forty-five minutes of true sludge punishment from this true underground all-star team, Emanations was recorded by Newman, as with their debut, after which it was mastered at Audiosiege, the album dredging forth the band’s most demoralizing and anguish-filled slow-motion chaos yet, and fittingly enshrouded by striking artwork by in-house Relapse artist Orion Landau.

“Disfigured Colossus” is the fourth of Emanations’ seven grueling tracks, and has been today released in several methods of dispersal, now playing at Youtube HERE and Soundcloud HERE.

Emanations will see release through Relapse on May 27th, 2014 on CD, LP and digital formats; preorders for the album can be placed HERE, and via iTunes HERE.

SKINFATHER: Entire Debut LP From California Death Mob Playing At Revolver

Tuesday, April 15th, 2014

As Southern California death quintet, SKINFATHER, is readying for the release of their debut LP, None Will Mourn, to see release in one week via Streetcleaner Records, today the entire record is now playing via Revolver Magazine’s website.

Taking direct inspiration from the 1990s Stockholm death metal scene and even slicing their moniker right off of a classic Dismember tune, on None Will Mourn, SKINFATHER delivers nine pulverizing hymns delivered with calculated precision and a cavernous production with just the slightest contemporary SoCal hardcore persuasion. The LP was engineered by Taylor Young from Nails, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, and features the bold cover art crafted by Raul Gonzalez, and is set for digital and LP release via Todd Jones of Nails’ DIY label, Streetcleaner Records, on April 22nd.

Dig a hole, and check out None Will Mourn at Revolver… CLICK THIS.

SKINFATHER will join Iron Lung and Bone Sickness supporting Nails’ West Coast tour running from May 1st through 5th, with Los Angeles, Santa Ana, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle on the list to get obliterated. Later this year, SKINFATHER and Nails will invade the East Coast, with that tour and additional live actions to be locked in the coming weeks.

Preorders for the LP version of None Will Mourn, which includes an instant digital download, are also now live, alongside other Skinfather gear HERE.

SKINFATHER West Coast Tour w/ Nails, Iron Lung, Bone Sickness:
5/01/2014 The Echo – Los Angeles, CA w/ Nausea
5/02/2014 Constellation Room – Santa Ana, CA w/ Violent Reaction, The Flex
5/03/2014 Bottom of the Hill – San Francisco, CA
5/04/2014 Star Theatre – Portland, OR
5/05/2014 El Corazon – Seattle, WA w/ Gag

“How well Southern California’s Skinfather captures the spirit and unadulterated sonic brutality of that glorious moment in time, on the other hand, is no doubt about to turn more than a few heads.” – Decibel Magazine

“…the band has a very Nailsian feel about them; their music has that same cooked-to-a-crisp, forced-to-run-through-a-forest-of-straight-razors-and-swim-through-a-sea-of-Drano vibe to it. It’s killer stuff.” – MetalSucks

“Skinfather, instead of just riding one influence to death for an entire album, are able to adroitly combine elements of doom and even crust and thrash into a pummeling assault.  Meaty riffs and chunky breakdowns abound like some sort of metal stew, simmered to perfection in the flames of no frills, in your face death metal.” – Metal Insider

“Straying from the formula just enough to cement themselves on their own comfortable ground, Skinfather deliver on their debut LP an album both respectful of its roots and aligned towards their own unique sensibilities. Monotonous and a tad overwhelming at times, it’s an album that’s miles more so a ripper and one of my favorite albums this half of 2014.” – American Aftermath

GREY SKIES FALLEN: NYC Ominous Metal Quintet Premieres New Track With Sea Of Tranquility

Tuesday, April 15th, 2014

New York City-area’s ominous black/death/doom quintet, GREY SKIES FALLEN, will open the gateways to their most epic and expansive album in their seventeen-year history on April 29th, 2014, with the release of The Many Sides Of Truth, and today, another single from the record has been set loose.

Now playing at exploratory metal community, Sea Of Tranquility is the third of the album’s seven massive tracks, “The Flame.” An incredibly gloomy but dynamic seven-plus-minute piece, in their new 4/5-rated review of the record, Sea Of Tranquility said of the track, “’The Flame’ is a kick ass Viking/Pagan metal barn burner, and wouldn’t sound out of place on any Amon Amarth or Enslaved album, and is perhaps the heaviest song here. In between some of the longer tracks are gentle, atmospheric instrumentals, which bridge the gap between the heavier pieces quite nicely.”

Ignite “The Flame” now at THIS LOCATION.

Also stream the album’s “Ritual Of The Exiter” and “Of the Ancients” via No Clean Singing RIGHT HERE.

As with their five previous studio works, GREY SKIES FALLEN will independently unleash The Many Sides Of Truth on multiple formats on April 29th. The band will directly publish the album through all digital platforms, and in CD and LP runs of 300 copies each. The Travis Smith-designed cover art for the record has been redesigned in three separate color schemes. The band’s own limited digipak CD and digital releases will bear a blue-infused cover, the LP artwork in green, and now, Paragon Records will issue a full official jewel case CD run featuring the artwork in red, and also handle distribution of the album. The band’s own LP pressing will be available shortly after the other editions on three vinyl color schemes — black, colored/splattered, and glow-in-the-dark. Preorders for the CD and digital versions through the band are available HERE, and LP preorders are posted HERE.

GREY SKIES FALLEN has also confirmed a local release show for The Many Sides Of Truth on Monday, May 12th at The Acheron in Brooklyn. This hometown gig will feature direct support from the henchmen in Buckshot Facelift, the brutalizing grind/death faction in which three of the members of GSF share double-duty, as well as local acts Hypoxia, Lysura and Lucid Terror. Additional live performances will be announced in the coming days.

GREY SKIES FALLEN Record Release Show:
