NECROPANTHER: MetalSucks Premieres The Doomed City From Colorado Blackened Thrash/Death Metal Unit; Logan’s Run-Inspired Third Full-Length To See Release This Friday

“The Doomed City oscillates freely between nerve-frying deathrash in the vein of bands like Skeletonwitch and Toxic Holocaust and flesh-shredding melodeath reminiscent of groups like Arch Enemy, and at no point does it want for full-on ‘FUCK YEAH!’-ness.” — MetalSucks

MetalSucks is currently streaming The Doomed City full-length from Colorado-based blackened thrash/death metal practitioners NECROPANTHER. The stream comes in advance of the record’s official release this Friday November 15th.

Recorded at Green Door Recordings with Felipe Patino (NOFX, Rise Against, Casualties etc.) and mixed and mastered at Flatline Audio by Denver’s own Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Allegaeon, Khemmis, Primitive Man), The Doomed City pays homage to the sci-fi classic Logan’s Run which depicts a utopian future society on the surface where the population and the consumption of resources are maintained in equilibrium by killing everyone who reaches the age of thirty.

Notes guitarist Joe Johnson, “There’s not enough blackened thrash in the world, so we made more.  We made a record that’s what we would want to hear.”

Writes MetalSucks, “The Doomed City oscillates freely between nerve-frying deathrash in the vein of bands like Skeletonwitch and Toxic Holocaust and flesh-shredding melodeath reminiscent of groups like Arch Enemy, and at no point does it want for full-on ‘FUCK YEAH!’-ness.”

Stream The Doomed City, only at MetalSucks, at THIS LOCATION.

The Doomed City comes swathed in the cover art of Denver graphic artist Max Sherman and will be self-released November 15th on CD and digitally. For preorders visit the NECROPANTHER Bandcamp page at THIS LOCATION.

“Though not without a tinge of influence from the mid-1990s Swedish scene (their sophomore album was in fact mixed and mastered by Swedish producer Fredrik Nordström), their sound is distinctly American and timelessly compelling, with a commitment to pure professional musicianship uncommon even in today’s celebrated death metal revival. While the vast majority of the genre currently favors hideous, dungeon-crawling themes of gore and horror, NECROPANTHER focuses alternatively on more cerebral, expansive concepts drawn from science fiction and fantasy…” — Invisible Oranges

“…thirteen tracks… of first-class blackened melodic death/thrash metal, with all it’s fury and desperation, poise and mastery, summing up into a massive sounding album for the ages! The Doomed City is a very strong contender to 2019’s Metal Album of the Year, deserving all the accolades, and then some.” — Denim & Leather

“The songs on The Doomed City are concise and visceral, managing to avoid virtually any filler from start to finish.” — Astral Noize UK

“A major step forwards for an already solid and intriguing band. Gothenburg and blackened thrash fans alike should run to pick up this release.” — Metal Trenches
