“Oscillate” is the demoralizing new track from Chicago’s dismal sludge/doom metal crew STOMACH. Now streaming exclusively at Metal Injection, the track marks the second single to drop ahead of the band’s impending second LP, Low Demon, nearing release this July.
STOMACH began as a duo featuring drummer/vocalist John Hoffman (Weekend Nachos, Ledge) and guitarist Adam Tomlinson (Sick/Tired, Sea Of Shit), who previously played together in the very first Weekend Nachos lineup. The duo released two demo tapes and their monstrous debut album, Parasite, prior to their upcoming second album, Low Demon, the band having since evolved into a live three-piece with the addition of bassist Kirk Syrek (Sick/Tired, Exalted).
Delivering their brand of punishing, sludge-laced doom to new lows, Low Demon arrives with over forty minutes across five dismal tracks of pure, sonic depravity. The record was recorded by John Hoffman during the winter of 2024 at The Pit II in Geneva, Illinois, and mixed and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios (The Body, Magrudergrind, Fugitive), with photography by Britt Crowe. With Low Demon, STOMACH has once again delivered an album of massive scope and sound cementing them amongst the very best in the sludge metal underworld.
Hoffman writes, “‘Oscillate’ is meant to be a world-ending track, just every ounce of hatred and negativity in one continuous blast of chaos until it breaks down into something more dismal…an ending of sorts, a metaphor for a hateful life: Your brain is chaos, you waste your life fighting and in the end you’re just left in a dark place to wither away and suffer alone.”
Metal Injection writes with their premiere of the track, “Chicago’s dismal sludge and doom metal crew Stomach is here to completely level your world with their new single ‘Oscillate.’”
Deploy the destructive force of STOMACH’s “Oscillate” first via Metal Injection now at THIS LOCATION.
Low Demon will be released July 18th, digitally and on both Black and very limited Red LP pressings. Preorders are live at the Hibernation Release webshop HERE and Bandcamp where “Get Through Winter” is streaming HERE.
