Avant/prog metal outfit SEVENTH STATION presents a new video for “Faust Cantata,” their take on Alfred Schnittke’s haunting work.
Built like a cinematic ritual, the clip moves through classical dissonance, shadowed imagery, and a sense of spiritual collapse. Part tribute to horror, part nod to the underground metal ethos, it reshapes those influences through modern progressive music. Taken from the band’s latest release, On Shoulders Of Giants, the video captures the band at their most uncompromising.
The song, created by this multinational and multi-faith prog entity, with its members located in Turkey, Israel, and Slovenia, is sung in German, and the video was created in Slovenia and Israel.
SEVENTH STATION frontman Vidi Dolev states, “This one had been in the works for a while. We tried to think what Schintke, the composer we all love, would do if he had a camera and an underground pool from the Ottoman Empire era; We hope he would approve. This is our most ‘metal’ tribute to a non-metal artist. We hope you’ll like it!”

SEVENTH STATION will gather for selected European dates this end of January in Slovenia and Germany, including an appearance in Berlin Prog Nights, Berlin’s up and coming new prog festival. Expect further news on the band to post throughout the year.

SEVENTH STATION was formed and is led by Slovenian guitarist Dimitri Alperovich, with Turkish keyboardist Eren Başbuğ (known from his work with Dream Theater, Jordan Rudess), Israeli vocalist Davidavi Dolev (Subterranean Masquerade), Ukrainian-Israeli bass player Alexy Polyanski (Jerusalem Academy Of Music And Dance), and Slovenian drummer Grega Plumbeger (Cordura). Despite the global spread of the members, Alperovich successfully gathered the musicians he believes to be the exact suit for the band’s music, spanning through the USA, Slovenia, and the Middle East, and later, performed in Europe.
On Shoulders Of Giants sees SEVENTH STATION taking their unconventionality up a notch. Reimagining works of classical composers who were known as nonconformists and freethinkers, the band quotes all with an artistically colorful twist into contemporary metal as a medium, along with the spirit of the underground as an artistic resistance, and the music itself as an opposite to the disposable culture of the instant. Exploring stories sung in Portuguese, German, and gibberish, On Shoulders Of Giants is a meditative record, unconquered by trends or fashions, built for audiences with an admiration of unconventional music.
