Nameless Grave Records is proud to announce the impending release of Light The Devil’s Fire, the debut album from Alberta-based REVELATOR.
Spawned from the cold, grim heart of Edmonton, Canada, REVELATOR is a nihilistic assault that is raw, relentless, and unwavering in its devotion to the darkest corners of archaic extreme metal. Born in 2017, the band quickly established itself as a local beacon of furious, unrepentant energy, aligning themselves with the primal ethos of unholy power that goes back to the roots of their genre, wielded mercilessly through every riff, every beat, and every beckoning.
In 2018 and 2019 REVELATOR unleashed two self-released cassette demos, gaining a cult following among those true at heart that encountered their music, and the band expanded from a two-piece recording project to a savage live band, igniting a fire of chaos across the stage that mirrored their destructive studio presence. With a lineup forged from experience, the members have a pedigree that speaks volumes, their collective history including bands like Ouroboros, Gloria Diaboi, Weapon, Begrime Exemious, Reliquary, and beyond, with those years of experience coming together.
REVELATOR now arrives with their savage debut full-length release, unveiling Light The Devil’s Fire, pummeling the listener with ten rampaging songs. The band offers an arcane and ancient black/death assault hearkening back to the riff lords of yesteryear: Desaster, Mortuary Drape, Nifelheim, and the earliest years of black metal. Light The Devil’s Fire was recorded by Rob Lawless at Lawless Recordings, mixed by Derek Orthner at Derek Orthner Audio, mastered by Drew Copland and Vector Sound, and completed with cover art by Christine Angela, and layout by Alasdair Rintoul.

With the album’s lead single, “By The Whip,” the band offers, “You’re about to hear ‘By the Whip,’ one of the earliest tracks written by REVELATOR and a cornerstone of the band’s sonic identity. This track perfectly captures the essence of what REVELATOR is all about—melding the raw, infectious energy of speed metal with the dark, ritualistic atmosphere of black metal. It’s fast, it’s aggressive, but there’s also a mysticism running through it – something that feels both primal and otherworldly. Expect razor-sharp riffs, relentless momentum, and a haunting undercurrent that ties it all together.”
