RAMBLIN’ RICKY TATE and BOSKO BAKER are the latest two additions to Anti-Corp Music’s adored The Magnolia Sessions, both set for release on May 1st.

The Magnolia Sessions showcases bluegrass, dark country, and folk singer/songwriter acts, recorded live in an intimate outdoor setting by a large magnolia tree at the Anti-Corp/Black Matter Mastering headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, by owner Dan Emery. The series has delivered albums from the likes of Lost Dog Street Band, The Hill Country Devil, Joe Wunderle, Cooper McBean, The Resonant Rogues, Matt Heckler, Jason Dea West, Johno Leeroy, Cristina Vane, Nick Hans, Casper Allen, Jeff Loops, Angela Autumn, Tyler Hood, Jade Brodie, Douglas Francisco, Ivan McLeod, Austin Stambaugh, Willi Carlisle, Coleman Williams, Joe’s Truck Stop, Aurelia Anne Cohen, Chris Emmert, The Bandit Queen Of Sorrows, and Squeaky Bones, many of which have debuted on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts.

RAMBLIN’ RICKY TATE is a folk and country singer from Birmingham, Alabama who weaves age-old melodies into modern tales of heartache and spiritual struggles. He cut his teeth busking and playing on the streets of New Orleans and all over the country before starting a jug band and touring far and wide preserving pre-war tunes and writing music in the style of those who came before. Over the years, TATE’s solo music has evolved into everything from devilish tales to country storytelling, becoming truly his own. From tales of devils on your trail to love lost, he pours his entire heart into his tunes setting a tone of southern Gothic folk tunes with a country twang.

On his involvement in The Magnolia Sessions, RAMBLIN’ RICKY TATE states, “I’m absolutely honored to be involved with this project and stoked beyond words to join the ranks of some of my own personal favorite live sessions. These sessions are raw and real and truly take you away to another place when you listen. The process is super fun, and Dan is amazing to work with. The whole backyard setup under the magnolia tree with the crickets is just rad to witness firsthand. I hope folks can picture themselves with me in a dark field under the stars and really feel something when they hear these tunes. I’ve worked on this batch of songs for years and put my whole heart into them, so I hope some folks enjoy listening ’cause it means the world to me. Can’t thank Anti-Corp or folks who give this record a listen enough to show how much I truly appreciate it.”

Emery adds, “RAMBLIN’ RICKY TATE was a surprise session, even for me. I had wrapped up recording for the year with an odd number of sessions. Ricky reached out to me at the advice of mutual friend and all-around badass Amie Astelle, and the timing was perfect. I asked how quickly he could prepare, and we were recording within a couple days. He is one of a select few artists who nailed all his takes within one or two tries. He was absolutely dialed in.”

BOSKO BAKER is a roots musician, blending American music — country blues, ragtime, folk, swing — into what he calls “street swing” or “bozo blues.” Drawing inspiration from legends like Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Blake, Jimmie Rodgers, and Mississippi John Hurt, his music combines raw energy with timeless tradition. With a spontaneous stage presence honed from years of busking, BAKER’s shows are where his music truly comes to life — an infectious mix of blues, swing, and folk that speaks to the heart of American roots music. From festival stages to intimate venues, his dynamic blend of storytelling, finger-picking guitar, and a deep respect for tradition makes every show a unique and foot-stomping experience that has gained him a loyal following.

BAKER writes on his installment of The Magnolia Sessions, “Playing underneath the ole magnolia tree with two of my best pals Birdie and Ely, oh, what a time. Arriving fresh off a gig, with little sleep from our tour, and a pocket full of folk tunes, we ripped through a few of our favorite numbers while listening to the chirping of crickets and feeling the soft breeze of an autumn in Nashville.”

Emery reveals, “Bosko dwells in chaos, and I love that about him. When he came to do his session, he was fresh off the campgrounds from playing a festival. He drove in to Nashville and had a show lined up the same night as his session. Most artists would draw absolute ire from me for doing this, but I trusted his methods. Good call on my part. He showed up at 10pm immediately after playing said show with Birdie Veilleux and Ely Rickard in tow. My wife came out in her pajamas and did the photoshoot for the promo pics, we did a quick soundcheck, and off they went! They absolutely delivered! Sessions like this one are in my opinion the true essence of what this project represents. These songs are a moment in time that we can all share over and over again. Something important happened during that moment in human history”
