“Subjugation” is the pulverizing new single from New Jersey/Washington DC-based death metal squad KONTUSION. The song is found on the band’s merciless debut album, Insatiable Lust For Death, nearing release on Profound Lore Records.
KONTUSION’s riffs, blasts, and walls of feedback reflect the darkness of a world marred by chaos, where large scale atrocities run amok. Drummer Chris Moore (Repulsion) and vocalist/guitarist Mark Bronzino (ex-Iron Reagan, Mammoth Grinder) represent the core of the band, with musicians emerging to fill out various lineups for live performances. With just a demo previously under their belt, KONTUSION has already toured throughout the East and West Coasts of the US, Midwest, and Texas, supported death thrash legends Deceased, and appeared at festivals such as Maryland Deathfest, and much more.
Now, KONTUSION arrives with the scathing, decimating, rapid-fire attack of their vile debut LP, Insatiable Lust For Death, its ten tracks immersing the listener in a cavernous, hellish tone, while the relentless riffs and percussion remain impeccably tight. Recorded by Chris Pierce at Volume IV Studios with additional tracking done at Damaged City Studios, Insatiable Lust For Death was mixed by Kevin Bernsten at Developing Nations, mastered by Nick Townsend at Townsend Mastering, and finished with artwork by Rotting Reign and layout by Aaren Molder.
A video for “Subjugation” infuses a collage archive concept by Faiza Kracheni and live footage shot and edited by Pluteras Records. Mark Bronzino states, “‘Subjugation’ reflects KONTUSION’s first, and maybe only, drop in BPM, delivering a crushing riff right from the start. Heavy tempos surround the track, while frantic fast paced beats create chaos at the core of the song. Lyrically, it agonizes on a history of humanity locked in a state of domination, where brutality is not only a reality, but the point.”

Having just returned from a West Coast Tour surrounding Northwest Terror Fest, KONTUSION is currently out on their tour across the European continent with Molder. With three shows in Belgium and the UK down, the tour continues through July 11th, culminating in a performance at Obscene Extreme Fest in Czech Republic.
