DEEPER GRAVES will close a four-year gap since its prior full-length with the February release of its third album, Pull Me Toward The Dark.

Since its inception, DEEPER GRAVES exists in the quiet spaces between weight and release – a slow-moving, atmospheric post-punk project shaped by restraint and emotional gravity. Created by Jeff Wilson – also of Chrome Waves, Contrition, formerly of Nachtmystium and Wolvhammer, and owner of Disorder Recordings – the project serves as a deeply personal counterpoint to his work in heavier realms, favoring mood, texture, and introspection over immediacy.

DEEPER GRAVES has unfolded as a solitary vision with Wilson handling all aspects, allowing the project to develop without compromise or external influence. The debut Open Roads introduced a sound rooted in reverberant guitars, understated rhythms, and melancholic arcs, while follow-up, The Colossal Sleep, expanded that language into darker, more immersive territory – a collection defined by slow tension and pulsing movement. Following the second album’s release, the project released several singles, including covers of The Cure and Portishead, and now, prepares to deliver its third album.

With Pull Me Toward The Dark, DEEPER GRAVES continues to drift deeper inward. The album refines the project’s core elements – shadowed structure, shoegaze-inflected textures, and a quiet unease – while exploring new emotional contours. The album unfolds patiently, allowing atmosphere to lead, blurring the line between song and soundscape. There is a deliberate sense of space throughout the record, where absence is as meaningful as sound.

And rather than chasing nostalgia, DEEPER GRAVES reinterprets the spirit of post-punk and gothic rock through a modern, deeply personal lens. Pull Me Toward The Dark stands as both a continuation and a transformation — an album shaped by solitude, reflection, and the slow passage of time, inviting listeners to sit with its weight rather than escape it.

Pull Me Toward The Dark was fully performed, engineered, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Wilson who also handled its cover art and photography. The video for “Where Do We Go From Here” was created by Heath Rave” (Lotus Thrones). Fans of Beastmilk, Killing Joke, Joy Division, The Sisters Of Mercy, and similar acts should immediately check out DEEPER GRAVES.

Wilson reveals, “While I had initially thought I’d retired this project from full-length endeavors, the timing and collection of songs for this album just kind of fell into my lap. I took the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone this round. To proverbially pull any sort of esoteric veil off the project. Simple lyrics, simple melodies, organic tones and memorable song structures. I’d imagine this is about as close to a rock record as this project will ever get.”
