INANIMATE EXISTENCE continues to tour in support of their A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement full-length, released this past Summer via Unique Leader Records. Tracked by Max Zigman (Son Of Aurelius, Smaragos) at Parade Outrageous in Santa Cruz and produced by Zack Ohren (Light This City, All Shall Perish, First Blood, Cattle Decapitation, Warbringer et al) at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement finds INANIMATE EXISTENCE elevating their signature, outlandish compositions to an entirely new level of profundity. A conceptual offering centered on Tibetan folk, each movement marvels at its own innovative density as intricate guitar structures coil seamlessly around complex rhythms and venomous vocal assaults as female vocal accents, clarinet, bass flute, harp, bongos and other nuances add to the record’s already confounding depth. No Clean Singing crowns, A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement, “…a fascinating effort, a true journey for your ears and mind that’s well worth experiencing again and again,” Last Rites notes, “INANIMATE EXISTENCE may very well take the crown as the one tech album worth listening to in a calendar year. It’s tighter than my old man’s wallet… and interesting enough to stand away from a field already crowded beyond breathing capacity,” while MetalSucks concurs, “A Never-Ending Cycle… fulfills the face-fuckery I forecast in January, with percussive endurance that grinds like jackhammers.” Adds Sputnik Music in a near perfect score, “A Never-Ending Cycle Of Atonement is meta in the sense that it recognizes the never-ending cyclical nature of genre stereotypes – bands that regurgitate and rehash the same material without the slightest incentive of breaking new ground – and INANIMATE EXISTENCE offer penance for their contemporaries; a public display of atonement in a brutal 45-minute package.”

EXHUMED: “New” Psalm Sullying The Airwaves Of Invisible Oranges; North American Onslaught With Napalm Death + Voivod In Progress

Thursday, January 29th, 2015

Today, the rabble-rousers of Invisible Oranges are sullying the airwaves with a refurbished rendition of “Necromaniac” by California’s favorite gore strategists, EXHUMED.

The latest number comes by way the band’s forthcoming Gore Metal: A Necrospective 1998 – 2015 full-length. A genre-changing audio manifestation of vile, grinding, over-the-top death-metal, Gore Metal was initially unleashed in 1998 and drips with charming repugnance, its raging riff subversions, foul-themed, slasher-film-inspired prose and putrid cover art still repulsively alluring nearly two decades since its release. Not content to let the album rot away, EXHUMED returned to the studio to re-record the underground classic. The resulting Gore Metal: A Necrospective 1998 – 2015, slated for release next month via Relapse Records, maintains the bone raw aggression of the original recordings while adding depth to the sonic devourment thanks in no small part to years of touring and a vastly improved-sounding recording quality.

Proclaims guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey, “‘Necromaniac’ was a song that we felt best exemplified what we were going for on Gore Metal: Possessed and Repulsion ripoff riffs, grunts, screams, whammy bar obnoxiousness, and a traditional song structure. Hence why we chose it for the album’s leadoff track. We’ve played the song countless times live throughout the years and I don’t hate it yet, which is a good sign! This version is a lot more listenable and coherent, which may or not be a good thing depending on your taste. Anyway, if all that sounds like your kind of thing, give this revamped version a listen!”

Adds Invisible Oranges, “Though only Matt Harvey remains from the old crew, he’s brought back an old friend to guest on these re-recordings. Ross Sewage reprises his primal roar here on… and the result is an especially nostalgic and endearing feel that most re-recordings miss in their quest for perfection. The performance is tighter, the guitar solo is sharper and the vokills are actually somewhat intelligible this time around. Most importantly though, ‘Necromaniac’ is still a whole lot of fun…. It’s still gore fucking metal.”

Get down with the dead at THIS LOCATION.

You can also get your vile self rocking to the sounds of “Limb From Limb,” stenching-up the airwaves of Revolver at THIS LOCATION as well as “Open The Abscess,” streaming below.

EXHUMED is currently lacerating the ears of the living throughout North America supporting co-headliners Napalm Death and Voivod. The raid will trounce nearly three-dozen municipalities, with its final assault befalling Houston on February 28th. Additional support will be provided by Iron Reagan and Black Crown Initiate with Ringworm, Dayglo Abortions, Theories and Phobia to appear on select performances throughout the trek.

MUSCLE AND MARROW: Portland Atmospheric Drone/Doom Duo Premieres “Ritual” Video Via Cvlt Nation; New Record Underway

Thursday, January 29th, 2015

Today, Portland atmospheric drone/doom duo, MUSCLE AND MARROW, is pleased to unveil a brand new video for the track “Ritual.” The hauntingly poignant movement will appear on the band’s forthcoming full-length, which is still in its composing stages.

Filmed over two days — one in the snow, one in the studio – “Ritual” was directed by Edward P. Davee and achieved with the aid of  Scott Ballard (camera), Kristin Marie (art director, producer), Kevin Forrest (gaffer) and Lucy Lee Yim (choreography). The track itself was recorded and mixed by Brandon Eggleston and mastered by Doug Henderson.

“Ritual” is asking the impossible: what can one do, as a human bound by flesh, to bring back the dead, to speak to the dead, to continue loving the dead? It is also exploring the limitations of art and of self-expression, while simultaneously asserting that turning desperation into an act of creation is in itself an act of innate strength and even optimism.

The clip is currently playing exclusively via Cvlt Nation, who elaborates, “MUSCLE AND MARROW makes music that haunts you, cuts deep and inhabits an emotional place in your soul. ‘Ritual’ is no different, and the video for it…delves into the mystery of their sound with its stunning visuals.”

Get swept away by the “Ritual” at THIS LOCATION.

Forged in 2013, MUSCLE AND MARROW is Kira Clark (guitar, voice) and Keith McGraw (drums, samples). Their sound is lush, full, sprawling and forever moving, blanketed in guitars that shift waiflike between haunting drone and menacing fuzz and bound by McGraw’s punishing drum work. Each movement, however, is powered by Clark’s voice — soaringly operatic and high at times; shaking and guttural at others. MUSCLE AND MARROW are interested in the morose, the ugly, the jarring and the soft relying heavily on changing dynamics and avoiding the linear, instead gravitating towards the clashing of sounds, their voice and drumming almost hypnotic at times, followed by sudden bursts of distorted noise and thrashing drums. They draw inspiration from literature, film, contemporary poetry, darkness with redemption and darkness without it, but their songs are at their core, deeply personal. Comparisons can be found in Chelsea Wolfe, Swans and Shannon Wright.

MUSCLE AND MARROW is currently penning the follow-up to their critically-lauded, 2013-issued, The Human Cry full-length. Said Metal BandCamp of the masterwork, “The songs are so richly and deeply textured with varying and contradicting elements that build a huge dynamic power and an overall unearthly atmosphere that constantly escapes your grip, and despite all the ultra-heaviness there’s a sense of this ghost floating around, it’s here and there, changing direction, changing moods and wears myriads of different shades of despair, melancholy, fear and anger.” Added Invisible Oranges, “Clark has a rich, emotive voice, and when it’s fully turned on she gets a quiver as if she is controlling the very atoms around her. She’s a witch, conjuring up powerful atmospheres of stormy skies, swirling clouds, dark horizons. While the name MUSCLE AND MARROW may impart an image of minimalism, there’s no exposed bone here. Instead, we get a coursing network of blood vessels and twitching nerves. McGraw’s well-timed drumbeats illuminate this throbbing affirmation.”

The Human Cry is still available for purchase via the official MUSCLE AND MARROW BandCamp page HERE.

Stay tuned for further MUSCLE AND MARROW developments as they transpire.

“Musically, this band is ultra heavy, but it’s not in the normal sense it’s more mental than physical.” – Cvlt Nation

TAKEN BY THE SUN: Chicago Progressive Post-Metal Doom Gazers To Release Debut Full-Length

Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

\Chicago progressive post metal doom/gaze collective, TAKEN BY THE SUN, will release their debut full-length next month. Tracked almost exclusively live at Electrical Audio (with “Confessions Of An Opium Eater” recorded at Studio 54 Music Zone), engineered by Sanford Parker (Twilight, Voivod, Eyehategod, Yob etc.) and mastered by Collin Jordan (Eyehategod, Indian, Wovenhand, Voivod etc.) at The Boiler Room, all in Chicago, Taken By The Sun is monolithic in its delivery boasting a sprawling, eight-track, forty-two minute sound expedition. Multilayered, nuanced, gristly and meticulous arranged, thick gnarled riffs coil around gravel-throated voice incursions, the planet rumbles, tracks heave like the sky is breaking. Aggressive yet cathartic, at times otherworldly, TAKEN BY THE SUN recalls the confounding atmospheres of veteran sound contortionists Neurosis, Isis, Pelican, Rosetta, Mouth Of the Architect, Red Sparowes, and The Ocean without replicating them.

Taken By The Sun Track Listing:
1. Scars
2. Demons Tempt the Dying Man with Crowns
3. Fuse
4. Red
5. Detached
6. Volatile
7. Confessions of an Opium Eater
8. Ornaflux

Forged in 2011, TAKEN BY THE SUN, a moniker representing decay and rebirth, is a Chicago metal band rooted within The Windy City’s venue-shaking, riff-worshipping doom and stoner metal traditions. At the core of their sound there lies fuzz-addled guitars, grinding bass, cavernous drums, and dry-throated vocals fused with prog metal acrobatics, lush vocal harmonies, and pedal steel twang to heighten the intensity and plain epicness of their compositions. And now, with their self-titled debut, TAKEN BY THE SUN is able to convey the energy and diversity of their music in recorded form. Recorded live with only minimal subsequent overdubs, the album is faithful to both the earnestness and magnitude of the band’s sound. TAKEN BY THE SUN is William Arroyo, Patrick Auclair, Justin Cape, Mark Cichra, and Kris Ziemlo.

Taken By The Sun will be released independently on February 24th via the official TAKEN BY THE SUN BandCamp page at THIS LOCATION.

BEHEMOTH To Release Official Biography Via Metal Blade Records

Wednesday, January 28th, 2015

Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors by Łukasz Dunaj serves as the definitive BEHEMOTH biography. The book, officially blessed, or rather damned, by BEHEMOTH, serves as an in-depth look at the history of the events that materially influenced the band. As Dunaj points out in the intro, this isn’t, “Poland’s response to Motley Crüe’s biography The Dirt.” Simply put, Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors is the story of BEHEMOTH, their music, their ultimate rise to the upper echelon of metal and becoming a household name in their native homeland, Poland.

A 490-page, hardcover tome that is being released by Metal Blade Records in February, Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors includes quotes and anecdotes from current and former members that provide context and details in addition to the author’s narrative, plus interviews with Tomas Krajewski, Rob Darken, Graal, Havok, and more. The artistically presented pages are splattered with old photos of the band, flyers, lyric sheets etc. Preorders are available now at metalblade.com/behemoth, and include a bundle with an exclusive shirt available ONLY with this preorder. The passages below serve as previews of the book.

From the foreword by Krzysztof Azarewicz: “If, as a cultural anthropologist, I were to point to a single cosmic force which BEHEMOTH’s music expresses, I would name it not Satan but Dionysus. A deity that represents not only the intoxicating influence of cosmic energies and earthly benefits, but also their benevolent healing properties. A deity of strength and pride. A deity of creative might.”

Nergal discusses the acquisition of his first electric guitar: “The first communion was a very important moment for me. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it’s true. Of course, not as a religion experience – I didn’t understand anything and couldn’t care less. Same as all the other kids. We all stood there with our votive candles and waited for one thing. Cash. The first communion must be one moment when you get the most money you’re ever going to get as a child. And for this money, I bought myself my first electric guitar. Not a bike, no Legos – a guitar.”

In related news, BEHEMOTH is currently leveling stages throughout North America on a mammoth co-headlining tour with legendary death metal practitioners/labelmates, Cannibal Corpse. The month-long Winter live takeover kicks off today in New Orleans, Louisiana and will wind its way through nearly three-dozen cities, coming to a close on March 7th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. MINSK: Long-Running Sound Alchemists To Release First Full-Length In Six Years This Spring Via Relapse Records

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

Following a six-year slumber, Illinois enigmatic sound conjurors, MINSK, are readying to unveil the otherworldly fruit of their long-anticipated new studio creation, The Crash & The Draw.

Scattered between the sleepy city of Peoria and metropolis of Chicago and drawing inspiration from a remote Belarusian city that has been burned to the ground only to be rebuilt like a phoenix rising from its own ashes, MINSK has been cultivating sonic exploration and alchemical outpourings since 2002. Rooted in the post-metal landscape that brought forth visionaries like Neurosis and Isis, with their latest offering, The Crash & The Draw, MINSK step out of the shadows of the giants of their genre to create a psychedelic blend of melodic, trance-inducing heaviness. Recorded almost exclusively in The Prairie State, The Crash & The Draw was captured by the band alongside Sanford Parker (Twilight, Voivod, Eyehategod, Yob etc.) at Earth Analog in Tolono, mixed by Parker and MINSK at Hypercube in Chicago and mastered by Collin Jordan (Eyehategod, Indian, Wovenhand, Voivod etc.) at The Boiler Room in Chicago with additional vocal tracking by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City. Old Man Gloom, Floor etc.) at Antisleep Audio in Oakland, California and further tracking, editing, and mixing by Kevin Rendleman at Trash Rocket Audio and Aaron Austin at We Know Who You Are, both in Peoria. The record includes the striking cover creation of Orion Landau (Yob, Inter Arma, Red Fang etc.).

An instant contender for one of the most forward-thinking metal records of the year, The Crash & The Draw is a thematic continuation of the group’s long standing fascination with alchemical and esoteric ideologies, with marked nods toward the thought and writings of perennial inspiration,Kahlil Gibran, and the espoused words of Hermes Trismegistus, the fabled author of the Corpus Hermeticum and other sacred texts. The album boasts eleven arresting movements that transcend the confines of post-metal, sludge and psychedelia. A crucial sonic passage through dark and light that’s at once crushing, hallucinatory and at times, spiritually illuminating, tracks ebb and flow with a pastoral elegance and tangible urgency. A fitting audio soundscapade for those souls devoted to the manifestations of Neurosis, Rwake, Yob, Isis and the like.

IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT: NYC Experimental Black Metal Tacticians To Unleash Abyssal Gods; New Hymn Streaming At Decibel + Live Demolitions Confirmed

Monday, January 26th, 2015

New York City experimental black metal tacticians, IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT, will release their long-awaited new full-length this March via Italy-based Aural Music’s Code666 imprint.

Titled Abyssal Gods, the band’s second long player was captured at Solitude Studios in Pennsylvania and Amy Mills Studios (Couch Slut, Epistasis) in New York , mixed and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice, Nader Sadek, Atheist, Origin etc.) at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves in New York and boasts the apocalyptic cover craftings of Andrew Tremblay (Deadbots, Downlow’d, Deathface etc.). Focused on urban decay and the imminent extinction of mankind, IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT’s Abyssal Gods serves as the follow-up to the band’s critically applauded, 2013-released Goliath EP and contains ten punishingly traumatic odes of strategically composed black-addled mayhem bedecked in angular riff incursions, bestial vocal tirades and an overall air of disease, dread and looming disaster as well as a guest appearance by Bloody Panda’s Yoshiko Ohara and more.

In celebration of the record’s impending unveiling, today Decibel Magazine heaves forth apocalyptic third movement, “Dead Heaven.” Elaborates founder/main composer, Ilya Ezrin, “Although we are proud to be born in such a renown place, Abyssal Gods as a whole addresses New York City as a cancer of the world and the absolute fist of the universe. ‘Dead Heaven’ is the psalm of the end of the world. It deals with the universal deconstruction and celestial collapse. The lyrics were actually inspired by the observatory space lecture scene in Rebel Without A Cause.”

Hear the sounds of a dying planet, as curated by IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT, at THIS LOCATION.

Citing an eclectic palette of influences that includes everything from Deathspell Omega to Polish post-serialism composer Krzysztof Penderecki, the band features members of investigational death metal contortionists, Pyrrhon as well as instrumental rock collective Secret Chiefs 3 and New York death metal legion Malignancy

KARMA TO BURN: Instrumental Stoner Rock Titans Release Two Arch Stanton Behind-The-Scenes Video Clips Via The Obelisk; Band Issues North American Tour Update

Monday, January 26th, 2015

West Virginia instrumental stoner rock kings, KARMA TO BURN, who are currently in the midst of a gargantuan North American live takeover, are pleased to unleash a pair of Arch Stanton behind-the-scenes video clips. Produced by Snakehill Productions and currently playing courtesy of premiere riff portal, The Obelisk, the clips find the trio discussing preferred tracks, favorite vocalists, dead or alive, tour life and more!

Get viewing at The Obelisk at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, check out KARMA TO BURN’s live video for the track “57” still playing at Decibel at THIS LOCATION.

Initially released in Europe last Summer via Switzerland-based Faba Records, KARMA TO BURN’s groove-laden Arch Stanton long player became available by the label domestically earlier this month. The band’s sixth studio album and third since reforming following their seven-year hiatus in 2009, Arch Stanton is reminiscent of their now iconic Wild Wonderful Purgatory and Almost Heathen offerings, channeling the true essence of the road-raging, riff rock ritual. The Sludgelord calls Arch Stanton, “a thrilling and explosive ride,” that, “firmly puts KARMA TO BURN at the forefront of instrumental stoner rock,” Metal Injection commends the band’s long-standing, “fiery irreverence,” further celebrating a record that’s, “full of heart, soul and the occasional rocking surprise,” while This Is Not A Scene opines in glowing  9/10 review of the record,  “If each of the eight tracks on here don’t have you nodding your head, or at least tapping your feet, then you may actually be dead.” New Noise Magazine agrees, “The riffs on this album are absolutely jaw-dropping,” Skulls N Bones calls Arch Stanton, “intense and unbridled,” and likens it to, “a speedy pill with no hangover,” while The Signal notes poignantly, “Throughout the record, volcanic riffs… surge and snap over winding, propulsive bass in sinister, darkened tones. Cymbals crash and fall in a savage dance around the pounding rhythms. Each instrument comes together for smoldering jam after smoldering jam…KARMA TO BURN re-proves their competency as a meat and potatoes stoner metal band.” Adds Dead Rhetoric in an 8/10 score, “Unsung as they are, KARMA TO BURN deserves a vast amount of credit for holding down the no-vocals fort, as well as remaining viable well into the latter stages of their career. If Arch Stanton proves anything, it’s that the West Virginia trio were right all along, and, the rest of the instrumental metal brigade owes a vast amount of debt to the band who was the first out of the gate.”

KARMA TO BURN are currently levying their blues-tinged, bong-ripping, riff decadence upon the ears of North American residents. Now more than half way through their extensive expedition, drummer Evan Devine checked in from their New Orleans stop late last week, “When we arrived at the venue, Siberia , we were treated to some genuine New Orleans music. The band was called The Salt Wives, all-acoustic, brass, an accordion… and these guys were singing everything from Irish folk songs to Eastern bloc gypsy tunes, I think we heard four different languages over the course of their two sets. It ruled. We spent some time around Bourbon Street, but the majority of it was spent in a small corner diner called The Clover Grill. Best diner we’ve been to yet, and we’ve tried a lot of diners.” Check out some photos below.

HOD: San Antonio Blackened Death Horde Welcomes New Bassist; 2015 Live Assaults Unfold

Friday, January 23rd, 2015

San Antonio blackened death horde, HOD, is pleased to officially induct bassist, ZVS Gastelum, into their infernal ranks.Gastelum comes by way of Texas black metal legion, Plutonian Shore, as well as Gnostic and replaced longtime HOD comrade, Robert “Trans AM” Coleman.

Comments the band, “Changes suck but sometimes they have to happen. After many years of service and brotherhood our brother Robert ‘Trans AM’ Coleman is no longer in HOD. TA will be missed for sure. We hope he gets everything he wants with his current projects and future endeavors. Best of luck to you, brother! We would also like to welcome ZVS Gastelum. ZVS had been filling in on bass while TA was out with Goatwhore, and did a great job. So the choice to bring ZVS into the fold was an easy one to make.  ZVS fronts his own band Plutonian Shore, and brings with him many years of live experience. The guy will crush your skull! We are stoked to get out on the road with this demon and unleash hell!”

In related HOD developments, the band will bring their bestial hymns to the stage of the 5th Quarter Lounge in Indianapolis tonight with Carpathian Funeral followed by a performance in Chicago the following evening. HOD will also devour New Orleans and Miami in the coming weeks with additional live invasions in the plotting stages.

1/24/2015 Cobra Lounge- Chicago, IL w/ Carpathian Funeral, Imperial Savagery, more
3/20/2015 Siberia – New Orleans, LA
3/21/2015 Churchill’s Pub – Miami, FL w/ Kult Ov Azazel, Solstice, Druid Lord, more

HOD released their Book Of The Worm full-length last Fall via Arctic Music. Named in honor of the Norse figure known as “the blind god,” a son of Odin, HOD persecutes the believers of more traditional religious beliefs with a relentless, kingdom-toppling brew of blackened death fans of Angel Corpse, early Morbid Angel, Deströyer 666, Von, Bloody Sign and other dealers of the evil arts won’t hesitate to burn a stack of bibles to. Produced by Dennis Munoz (Solstice) and featuring artwork by Jon Zig (Averse Sefira, Deeds of Flesh, Pyrexia), Book Of The Worm is HOD’s first full-length since 2009’s Ibex Moon-released Serpent, amidst several smaller releases, delivering their most catastrophic material to date.

With potent songcraft and an upswing in career momentum, Book Of The Worm at long last establishes HOD as a beacon in the blackened thrash underground. – Metal Injection

“A hybrid of black and death metal, HOD are a ferocious live band with a huge stage presence loaded with jean jackets, spikes and bulletbelts, headbanging, and lots of PBR tall cans. Book Of The Worm is much in the same vein with a delivery similar to that of Deströyer 666. 4/5”  – About.com

“If life is truly nasty, brutish, and short, HOD remains that aphorism made ripping flesh and dripping blood.” – Austin Chronicle

“Full of fire and low on mercy, Book Of The Worm is a breakneck listening experience.” – Dead Rhetoric

“A smorgasbord of riffs and double bass destruction.” – Metal Underground

“… this five-piece attacks with as much Napalm Death as Dark Funeral. Sure, there’s Scandinavian influence dripping off of the riffs like the mold dripping off of that towel you’ve had in front of your shower for the past month, but the rhythm section is straight outta wherever the fuck grindcore comes from.” – Last Rites

VOICES: New Record From UK Avant Sound Contortionists Streaming At Cvlt Nation; London To See North American Release Next Tuesday

Friday, January 23rd, 2015

Just days away from its North American release, today Cvlt Nation streams London, the brand new studio offering from UK avant sound contortionists, VOICES, in its entirety.

Delivering fourteen bastardized tracks of progressive blackened psychedelic melancholia centered on the forgotten and diseased underbelly of England’s capital city, VOICES – who features within their twisted ranks former members of Akercocke and My Dying Bride – compose perfectly imperfect sounds to welcome the end of creation, the extinction of the human, the collapse of music as we once knew…

Already reaping critical acclaim throughout European media outlets with Metal Hammer naming the record, “one of the most unique and ambitious metal albums of recent years… from sumptuous beauty through helplessly driven, angular extremity to mind-flaying, id-erupting mania, London is a shattering of the senses, and a psychedelic thrill ride down the rabbit-hole of consciousness,” and Angry Metal Guy assuring, “you’ll be completely captivated right until the final excruciating note,London is earning similar accolades on North American shores. Metal Insider applauds a band, “unafraid of musical exploration,” furthering that, “their ability to seamlessly meld together genres as varied as black and death metal with dark folk and prog rock, among so many others, would be commendable in attempt alone. But the success in which they’ve been able to so perfectly paint this shadow world with music, beyond how they are describing it directly in words, makes this album one of the most distinctive and engaging metal albums in recent memory.” Metal Underground calls London, “a sprawling piece of work,” and a, “solid effort of progressive black/death metal,” Dead Rhetoric commends in an 8.5/10 rating an, “utterly bleak,” offering that captures, “a feeling of a demented rollercoaster ride,” adding, “London is an exquisite trip worth taking on repeated occasions,” while New Noise Magazine notes, “VOICES has certainly crafted a challenging and harsh listen, but that doesn’t diminish how impressive the full result is, given you have the time and energy to take a harrowing journey with these Englishmen.”

Celebrating a record that’s “beautiful and furious, frustrated and self-assured,” VOICES’ London is currently streaming, courtesy of Cvlt Nation, at THIS LOCATION.

VOICES was formed in London in 2011 as a new experiment from guitarist/vocalist Peter Benjamin, drummer David Gray and bassist Sam Loynes (all former members of Akercocke) with a mission to create a deep brand of cold and confronting music, part hypnotic yet often disturbing, focusing from an avant-garde take upon black metal, whilst always striving to explore a wide musical spectrum.

London will be released in North America via Candlelight Records on January 27th, 2015. Preorder your copy today at THIS LOCATION.
