Soul Structure, the debut LP from UK-based hardcore outfit HIGHER POWER is out this week through Flatspot Records and Venn Records. In celebration of Soul Structure‘s release, the band offers their new official video, created for the LP’s “Four Walls Black.”

HIGHER POWER‘s unique sound, bridging old-school attributes with contemporary stylings – with comparisons ranging from Leeway to Jane’s Addiction, Cro-Mags to Life of Agony rolling in — is both intriguing and infectious.

In a 9/10 review, Exclaim! Magazine published, “HIGHER POWER have established themselves as a band to watch by taking risks and bringing new and interesting sounds to the table, and with Soul Structure, they’ve carved out a spot at the front and center of the new guard of UK hardcore.” Metal Hammer says the album, “channels the band’s influences of melodic hardcore but sounds like Perry Farrell is on vocals.” Ghost Cult Magazine gives the album a 9/10 review: “while easily recognizable and similar to bands such as Turnstile and Trapped Under Ice, still manages to be original in many ways, not least in respect of the vocals which have an almost Jane’s Addiction feel to them… I honestly think that this could be seen as a real landmark for a new wave of bands coming through and Higher Power deserves to be at the forefront.”

HIGHER POWER has a hometown release show in Leeds booked for June 3rd with The Flex and more, and surrounding shows with the likes of Fire & Ice, Trapped Under Ice, Turnstile, Insist, and more, with more extensive tour dates to be announced soon.

HIGHER POWER Tour Dates:
6/03/2017 Hyde Park Book Club – Leeds, UK w/ The Flex, Bitter Youth, Frame Of Mind, and Big Cheese, [tickets]
6/16/2017 Woody’s – Schleiz, DE w/ Trapped Under Ice
6/17/2017 Essigfabrik – Cologne, DE w/ Trapped Under Ice

Bursting with old-school NYHC groove and West Coast crossover, HIGHER POWER‘s Soul Structure LP is about positive expression of aggression and a form of escapology. It is angry music – but lyrically they convey a lot about themselves as people. It’s about finding a positive outlet for their anger, whether it’s social issues or mental health, it’s adding a social consciousness and depth to what traditionally is quite a one-dimensional genre of music. The album was recorded by Misha Hering at Holy Mountain, with vocals recorded by James Atkinson at Mutiny Studios. The album was mixed by Arthur Rizk at Salomons Gate (Power Trip, Mizery, War Hungry) and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), and features artwork by Sam Bailey.
