Death metal newcomers/recent Relapse signees GATECREEPER have just shared another savage new single, “Stronghold,” lifted from their forthcoming full-length debut Sonoran Depravation, set to drop next month via Relapse Records. The track is currently waging war at Decibel Magazine, who points out, “In four minutes, GATECREEPER runs a breakneck pace in and out of crushing heavy moments.”
Adds GATECREEPER vocalist Chase Mason of the track, “Chronologically, this is the oldest song on the record. We wrote this song early on and it has been a staple in our live set ever since. The Bolt Thrower influence on this one is more than obvious. This is the sound of being run over by a tank.”

Having devastated the underground since their formation less than three years ago, GATECREEPER‘s Sonoran Depravation was produced by Ryan Bram at Homewrecker Studios and mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, Black Breath) at God City Studios. The record tears and chugs through more than thirty minutes of crusty, doom-soaked death metal at its most infectious and uncompromising with a massive sound that calls to mind the classic Swedish buzz-saw attack of Dismember and Grave mixed with the impeccable groove of Obituary and Bolt Thrower. The album’s lead track “Craving Flesh” can be heard now via Soundcloud HERE and YouTube HERE.
Sonoran Depravation is set for an October 7th release via Relapse Records and can be preordered on physical and digital formats via this LOCATION.
GATECREEPER recently announced a full US tour supporting Skeletonwitch and labelmates Iron Reagan which will commence on September 29th in Atlanta, Georgia. Additional support will come from Oathbreaker. A complete listing of dates is available below.
