Denver-based doom metal legion KHEMMIS has unveiled the new single “Three Gates,” through an exclusive premiere at Decibel Magazine, the track culled from their incoming second LP, Hunted, which will see release through 20 Buck Spin in October.

Decibel was an easy choice for the new premiere, as the magazine has regarded KHEMMIS as one of the best bands of the style since word of their debut LP Absolution was announced last year, the album making the mag’s #9 position in their top albums list in 2015. Hunted is already being embraced by the publication, their upcoming November issue bearing a lead 9/10 review of the album, a slab of the hearty write-up stating in part, “KHEMMIS‘ reverence for yesteryear’s loudest riffs resonates in their musical choices without defining them. There’s no ho-hum sameness, no bag of recycled fourth-hand tricks. Hunted is an album where vulnerability coexists with crushing heaviness to give intangible expressions weight and volume. Doom disciples have long flocked to that Iommi monolith, hoping to recapture its deceptively simple majesty. With cinematic elegance and an unwavering dedication to loud + heavy, KHEMMIS are swiftly building their own monolith on the same mountain top.”

Tune in to Decibel and unload KHEMMIS’ “Three Gates” at maximum volume from THIS LOCATION.

Metal Injection also previously released the album’s “Candlelight” which is streaming HERE.

Using the same team as their lauded debut, Hunted was recorded at Flatline Audio with Dave Otero (Cobalt, Nightbringer, Cephalic Carnage) and features artwork by Sam Turner (3 Inches Of Blood, Black Breath, TRVE Brewing). Hunted is undoubtedly an album that will solidify KHEMMIS‘ place at the vanguard of doom’s most notable modern manifestations, in large part because they transcend the label itself. They’ve seamlessly blended their influences into an extraordinarily listenable album worthy of countless spins. With such a glut of music released nowadays, Hunted stands apart, rewarding repeat listens with songs seared straight into the heart.

20 Buck Spin will issue Hunted on CD, LP, and digital formats on Friday, October 21st; preorders will begin September 13th. Additional audio and much more will be released in the coming days.

Following their West Coast US tour to the maiden Migration Fest in Olympia, Washington, KHEMMIS is plotting additional live performances and widespread tour dates in support of Hunted. The band is confirmed to take part in Tucson-based Southwest Terror Fest V, playing the main stage on Sunday, October 23rd alongside Saint Vitus, The Skull, Witch Mountain, CHRCH, and Grey Gallows that evening. KHEMMIS has also already booked two special one-off shows for 2017, the band to play in Chicago and Brooklyn on January 13th and 14th respectively.
