GOROD: New Lyric Video From Progressive Tech Death Faction Playing At Metal Injection; A Maze Of Recycled Creeds North American Preorders Available

GOROD 2015-2

“…hands down one of the best technical death metal bands out there…” – Metal Injection

Progressive French tech death faction, GOROD, will unleash their long-awaited A Maze Of Recycled Creeds full-length in North America next month via Unique Leader Records. Now three-years in the waiting, the near-fifty-minute-long work of diabolic genius is based on unfathomable fantasies created by various secret societies and mystical orders and spews forth eleven tracks of arthritis-inducing riffs, spiraling, harmony-rich fret decompositions, surgically-precise time shifts, blasts, brawn and an incessant barrage of malicious vocal onslaughts. Elaborates the band of the record’s concept, “A Maze Of Recycled Creeds speaks of the fraternity of the Rose-Croix, specifically via the works of Sâr Merodack Joséphin Péladan (1858 –1918), a peculiar ‘guru’ claiming to have divine origins from Assyria…”

In an advance review of the offering, No Clean Singing gushes, “A Maze Of Recycled Creeds is up there with the best the band have produced… and that it brings that memorable weirdness factor back into the band’s music with gusto. For one thing, there’s most definitely a larger helping of the band’s more unconventional Latin-Jazz influences…. Whether these touches are displayed in a more subtle manner (such as in the twisty, spiraling grooves of prototypical opener ‘Temple ToThe Art God’) or thrust to the forefront in a more overt fashion (as in the sexy jazz-prog shimmy of ‘Celestial Nature,’ with its nimble, furiously funkified tech-death riff work), they certainly help to give the album a brash and bold sense of character that makes it stand out from the crowd. Both the extensive progressive musical musings of ‘Inner Alchemy’ and the effervescent, cascading hookiness of ‘The Mystic Triad Of Artistry’ epitomize the band at their very best, brimming with clever (yet never overly so) guitar work and thrillingly unpredictable (yet never random) structural twists and turns that tread a fine line between captivating and confusing. In lesser hands this mixing of jazz/funk/prog/fusion/metal would likely end up as an unlistenable mess, but you only have to look to the weirdly infectious, stop-motion fretwork of ‘An Order To Reclaim’ …to see the Frenchmen make it look almost effortless…”

In celebration of its release, Metal Injection is hosting the official lyric video for “Temple To The Art God,” issuing of the track, “‘Temple To The Art God’ is a dizzying display of songwriting talent told through what I’d imagine a Salvador Dali painting might sound like with a distortion pedal. GOROD, as usual, writes insane riffs that manage to get stuck in my head without ever once seeming needlessly placed within the song.”

Forged in Bordeaux, France in 1997 and initially known as Gorgasm, GOROD released their debut full-length, Neurotripsicks, in 2004 via Willowtip Records where they’d remain for their next two recordings. 2006’s Leading Vision would follow, paving the way to the band’s first ever North American live performance at the Maryland Death Fest. The band continued to floor the underground masses that year with their maniacal live output playing various European festivals throughout the Summer and Fall months. By 2008, GOROD dropped the noxious fruits of their Process Of A New Decline. Called a, “colossal effort with outstanding musicianship worth several listens,” by Metal Underground in a near-perfect 4/5 rating, the record found GOROD honing their identity displaying more groove, speed, texture and technical dexterity than ever before. The band transcended further boundaries recording acoustic versions of some of their classic material as well as a fifteen-minute progressive epic on 2010’sself-released Transcendence EP. Regarded as a true masterwork, GOROD‘s 2012-issued A Perfect Absolution full-length, released via Listenable Records, found the unit at the peak of their proverbial game, their frenzied, speed-driven guitar sweeps and barbaric yet systematically-controlled assault of technical metal mayhem reaping critical accolades globally. In a 9/10 score, Metal Injection hailed, “A Perfect Absolution comes unconditionally recommended to all fans of metal, whether you’re looking for a clinic in music theory or simply trying to bang your head in the car.” No Clean Singing agreed noting, “There are a lot of bands out there who are as talented as GOROD, but these Frenchmen have a talent for songwriting that places them light years beyond most of their contemporaries.” with A Maze Of Recycled Creeds, GOROD picks up where they left off with some of their most awe-inspiring compositions yet. Believe it.

A Maze Of Recycled Creeds will be released October 16th, 2015 in North America via Unique Leader Records and in Europe via Listenable Records. Preorders in North America are currently available at THIS LOCATION.
