Ohio grinding progressive death engineers, LOCUSTA, are packing up their weaponry for the Primordial Death Summer Tour. Set to commence tomorrow, July 23rd, in Lexington, Ketucky, the tour will raze sixteen cities, coming full circle and drawing to a close on August 8th in Covington, Kentucky. The band will be joined by fellow Buckeye Statedeath metallers, Faithxtractor, for a bulk of the journey as well an assortment of brutalizers throughout the tour including Mutant Supremacy, Noisem and Tombstalker.
LOCUSTA will be touting material from their self-titled debut and tunes from their most recent recording – 2014’s Dendromorphosis EP, which features demo versions of some of the songs from the band’s long-awaited new full-length as well as a molten rendition of Death’s “See Through Dreams,” and artwork by renowned designer Lucas Ruggieri (BlackTusk, Kylesa, Ghoul, cough et al). The limited edition release comes with a small fold-out poster and, with only a small portion of the pressing left, the band will be giving the Dendromorphosis EP away for FREE with any order of merchandise or digital album download from the band’s BandCamp page. Or come by one of the shows and the band will hand deliver one to you at the merch table.
In the meantime, check out the mauling “Contaminant Remains” from the Dendromorphosis EP. A faultless balance a methodical, Schuldinerian riff sequences and scalding gore-torn vocal oscillations, the tune is at once haunting, cerebral and wholly engrossing. Check it out at THIS LOCATION.

Formed in the fall of 2006, LOCUSTA takes their name from a female chemist from Ancient Rome regarded as the first documented serial killer.
