COLOMBIAN NECKTIE: Sludgecore Perpetrators To Play Record Release Show in Los Angeles This Evening: Live Footage Posted

West Coast sludgecore perpetrators, COLOMBIAN NECKTIE, will level the stage of All Star Lanes in Los Angeles this evening alongside Black Sheep Wall, Crowhurst and The Love Below! The show marks the band’s official record release show in support of their latest full-length, Twilight Upon Us, self-issued this past Summer.

A record Decibel Magazine dubs, “scary sick,” Twilight Upon Us was produced by Erol “Rollie” Ulug (Graf Orlock) at Bright Lights Studios and continues to raise the eyebrows and fans and media both stateside and abroad with its articulate synthesis of hardcore, sludge and noise rock bombast.

AngryMetalGuy commends COLOMBIAN NECKTIE‘s, “heavy, muddy, and chunky riffs,” and, “no-bullshit song-writing approach,” furthering that, “COLOMBIAN NECKTIE are great for getting right to the point and not teasing you or leading you on. Song writing is definitely the band’s main focus on Twilight Upon Us, and that’s where they shine.” Metal Storm crowns the record “a breath of fresh – or musty, depending on how you want it – air into the sludge world,” adding, “if you’re looking for a grimy, moody listen, look no further than COLOMBIAN NECKTIE.” In a 4/5 rating, Stereokiller calls Twilight Upon Us, “violent and impressive…,” Echoes And Dust recommends the record, “if you’re looking for some intense music that brings together some of your old favorites – Dystopia, Mohinder, Pg. 99 or even Cave In,” while Ghost Cult likens the band to “Raging Speedhorn or Cancer Bats in its sound and intensity,” specifically citing drummer Ben Brinckerhoff, “the unsung star of this show, constantly introduces deft changes which paradoxically pummel the brain.” Adds Violent Resonance, “Solidly standing on its own merits, the album slaps a fresh coat of paint on the old school and sharpens the dull edges back into combat readiness. Whether it is through the rejuvenated brevity of hardcore, the patient crawl of doom, or the upbeat groove of straight rock, COLOMBIAN NECKTIE has given the heavy music world a few much needed kicks in the teeth.”
