Genre defiant, avant experimentalists, OvO, are pleased to premiere the official new video for “O Cannibali.” The eye-popping 3D animated clip was created by the MegaBaita collective. A meticulous creation from beginning to end, “I Cannibali” took a month to properly produce, including the construction of its many models, the animation and the final edit. The technique required the fabrication of more than a thousand moving objects in two minutes. Every image has been hand drawn on paper and only freeware programs were used in its manipulation.

“I Cannibali” comes by way of OvO‘s confounding Abisso full-length issued last year via Supernatural Cat. Abisso finds the curious noise duo of Stefania Pedretti and Bruno Dorella taking their unorthodox compositions to entirely new dark, rhythmic, and often suffocating realms. Where Cor Cordium and previous offering, CroceVia, were veritable points-of-no-return for their minimal rock structures with Dorella’s half drum set and Pedretti’s guitar and penetrating vocal gymnastics swirling into a detached otherworldly kingdom of curiosity, Abisso travels far beyond those confines, using contemporary music tools to maintain their unparalleled creativity and eternal evolution. Samples, drum machines, pads, field recordings and synths converge into a harrowingly alluring sound that haunts the ears with ancestral urgency. With the help of Giulio “Ragno” Favero at the mixing desk, Giovanni Versari’s mastering, and the friendly collaboration of Alan Dubin (Gnaw, ex-OLD, ex-Khanate) and Carla Bozulich with her full band, Evangelista, OvO has traversed into new territories of extreme and adventurous listeners are taking notice.
