Vice Magazine’s online music channel, Noisey, is now exclusively demonstrating what Poison Everything, the debut LP from Southern California-based OBLITERATIONS, brings forth, with an exclusive detonation of the album’s cruel shredder, “The One That Got Away,” Preceding its release in October via Southern Lord.
With current and ex-members of Black Mountain, Saviours, Night Horse and other acts merging their collectively callous talents into a jacked-up and unhinged punk/hardcore delivery in OBLITERATIONS, the outcome of their Poison Everything LP resembles a mangled, modernized amalgamation of The Stooges, MC5, Laughing Hyenas, Black Flag and Poison Idea surging with a dangerous and adrenalized pulse of a back-alley brawl on the verge of going down.

OBLITERATIONS also confirms tours in both North America and Europe this Autumn in conjunction with the release of Poison Everything. First up, the band will destroy the West Coast US and Canada on a Southern Lord package tour, headlining a majority of the shows on the run with support from labelmates Baptists and Torch Runner. In addition, 1980s Texas punk legends, The Offenders, will headline several of the California shows, and the entire tour will kick off with a massive Southern Lord showcase on October 15th in the label’s home of Los Angeles, with Excel, Goatsnake, The Offenders, Xibalba set to perform in addition to the three-band tour cluster. The tour hits Canada for two shows and runs through October 30th, with the final show in Oakland.
Less than three weeks after the North American run, OBLITERATIONS will hit Europe on an extensive tour sponsored by Visions Magazine. This set of dates will see the band playing across the European continent from November 19th through December 9th at press time, with more shows to be added in the coming weeks.

Poison Everything will see worldwide release on Southern Lord, in Europe on October 27th, and in North America October 28th. Recorded with producer Chris Owens (Lords, Coliseum, Young Widows) at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in only three days, mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire, Black Breath) at God City Studio, and mastered by Brad Boatright (Tragedy, Integrity, Sleep) at Audiosiege, the end result of Poison Everything is a thirteen-song, twenty-nine-minute record full of raw brutality, darkness and aggression, weaving its way through the annals of punk and hardcore, while still sounding fresh and vital. The blueprint isn’t the point here, it’s the results. The sound is abrasive and raw, driving and aggressive, and fully infectious. OBLITERATIONS‘ mission is simple a one; write, record, tour, and that’s just what they do.
