SECRETS OF THE SKY To Kick Off US Tour With North; Band Undrapes “Fosforos” Video Clip

Following a successful live incursion supporting label mates, Anaal Nathrakh, last month, Oakland ethereal doom pessimists, SECRETS OF THE SKY, will wage their sonic menace upon the masses on the next leg of their ongoing live infiltration. Set to kick off tomorrow at The Complex in Glendale, California, the band will level ten stages through five states, drawing to a ceremonial close at 7th Circle Collective in Denver, Colorado. The eclectic collective will be touring alongside Tucson sludge ensemble, North, on select dates. SECRETS OF THE SKY is also confirmed to perform the inaugural Death To False Metal gala in Hamden, Connecticut in August alongside Whiplash, Krieg, Valkyrie, Imperial Triumphant, Nightbitch, Godhunter, Immortal Bird, Secret Cutter and many more, with future onstage endeavors in their plotting stages. In conjunction with the tour’s kick off, today the band delivers the moving visual companion to “Fosforos” from their Pathway full-length, released last month via Metal Blade Records. The crushing, muted-toned clip was captured by Rosa Santolaya and edited by vocalist/key boardist Garett Gazay.

Additionally, the video for dramatic twelfth movement, “Eternal Wolves,” is currently viewable at metalblade.com/secretsofthesky where you’ll also find the band’s recently unveiled, Andrew Nethery (Melvins, Kyuss Lives, Dead Meadow)-directed clip for “Angel In Vines.”

“…a progressive metal masterpiece…” — Metal Injection on first single, “Three Swords”

“Sometimes SOTS sound like Evoken woke up wanting to play Rodgers & Hammerstein, but couldn’t quite shake their funeral fog. They’re as colorful as Between The Buried And Me without ever busying up the compositions so much…Whatever. When SOTS play, they rule. ” — Decibel

“The doom equivalent of Alcest’s Écailles_de_Lune or Solstafir on last year’s Ótta… records with beauty, staying power and just enough grit to carry the day,” — Invisible Oranges

“…masterful, self-possessed, powerful and convincing.” — HeavyBlogIsHeavy

“…a colossal effort with some stupendous songwriting and production work.” – Metal Insider

“Soaring guitar melodies intertwined with a crushing yet pristine drum sound, a discernibly massive bass layer, crooning clean vocals and bestial growls decorate Pathway from start to finish. Pathway caters to doom, extreme and progressive metal fans but beyond anything, is a mind-bending musical experience transcends the scope of metal.” – Metal Assault

“…beautiful and nihilistic, but completely compelling and cohesive in execution. More of a step by step journey through a narrative of twilight atmospheres than a set of songs, Pathway stands apart from the band’s debut… not by outdoing it, but by further refining and expanding upon the elements which gave that first record its strength…pick up this out of the box record by an upcoming, out of the box band and take a long stare into the abyss.” – Violent Resonance
