BrooklynVegan is currently streaming “The Badge” from Los Angeles hardcore punk unit DESTROYED IN SECONDS (AKA D.I.S.). The bruising new hymn comes by way of the band’s their third full-length, Divide And Devour, set for release next month.

Issues the band of the track, “‘The Badge’ is a scathing and damning response to the rising police state and law enforcement worship that has been growing in this country under an administration which openly embraces nationalism and open violence on minorities and those who oppose these dangerous ideals. Fascists openly march in the streets with police escorts. Officers under fire for misconduct and brazen brutality are acquitted even with the most damning of evidence against them. An entire counter movement was created to undermine the voices of those who decide to take a stand against the corrupt law enforcement system which openly demonizes and targets the oppressed. This is a response. This is a battle cry. This is not a threat. There is no warning shot.”

Adds BrooklynVegan, “It’s a ruthless, d-beating ripper with some searing lead guitar, and as you might’ve guessed from the song title, it takes on the police state in America.”

Following their lauded Critical Failure (2008) and Becoming Wrath (2013) full-lengths, both released via Deep Six Records, DESTROYED IN SECONDS returns with the punishing sounds of Divide And Devour . Centered on pushing back against the growing wave of far-right populism, authoritarianism, the growing police state, and the rise of neo-Nazism and the alt-right, Divide And Devour spews forth eleven tracks of unrelenting d-beat ferocity. Tracked by drummer Sean Vahle at Architeuthis Sound in North Hollywood, and mixed and mastered by John Haddad (Final Conflict, Phobia) at Trench Studios in Corona, the record includes the addition of bassist Kyle Hertz (Temple Of Dagon, State Of Defiance) and lead guitarist Christian La Rocca (Ruin, Gravehill, Cobra Venom), writing a new chapter of rage and fury for the band.

Featuring the apocalyptic artwork of Mark Richards (Heavy Hand Illustration) and layout by guitarist Bruce Reeves (Warlord Industries), Divide And Devour will be released independently on digital and limited edition cassette formats on April 24th with a vinyl edition to follow.

For preorders and to stream the title track, visit the DESTROYED IN SECONDS Bandcamp page at THIS LOCATION. Additionally, find the track “Disarm,” currently streaming at Obscene Extreme’s website HERE.

DESTROYED IN SECONDS, currently plotting live dates for the summer months, will play a special record release show in Los Angeles in April as well as Obscene Extreme Fest 2020 in the Czech Republic in July. Stand by for more dates to be announced in the weeks to come.

“If Stampin’ Ground had emerged from the late eighties UK hardcore scene, had decided that their future lay squarely within the realms of d-beat and had then relocated to LA to hone and perfect their vision by playing a thousand shows in gang infested clubs and backyard parties, they would have sounded exactly like DESTROYED IN SECONDS.” — Mass Movement
