THE BODY: Master, We Perish Sees Release; New Video For “Worship” Now Playing At Invisible Oranges

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

Master, We Perish, the newest vile EP from nomadic doom duo THE BODY, is available worldwide today via At A Loss.

Preaching three new anti-life messages, Master We Perish takes the distinctive style and matchless power of this earthmoving cult to its most corrosive and ominous yet. The EP’s blackened bursts of noise-drenched, low-fi doom are fueled by percussionist Lee Buford’s hypnotic, tribal rhythms, the melee infiltrated by guitarist/vocalist Chip King’s penetrating vocal screech, recorded at Providence, Rhode Island-based Machines With Magnets (Battles, Daughters, Lightning Bolt, Chinese Stars). THE BODY also recruited Leslie Weitz (Otesanek), Chrissy Wolpert (Assembly Of Light Choir) and Reba Mitchell (Whore Paint) for vocal contributions throughout the torrid endeavor adding an array of eerie dynamics to the songs.

In praise of the arrival of Master, We Perish, the harrowing new video for the EP’s closing track, “Worship,” is now infiltrating the airwaves. As with the video for the EP’s opening track “The Ebb And Flow Of Tides In A Sea Of Ash” — released earlier via Pitchfork HERE – the “Worship” visual recording was directed by Richard Rankin. Witness the coming of the end with the drawn-out tribal buildup as humans weep, fear, repent, and await the immense, mangled, feedback and effects-laden closing via Invisible Oranges AT THIS LOCATION.

Find Master, We Perish as a 12” EP, CD, cassette and digital download on via At A Loss Recordings, the label responsible for the reissue of THE BODY’s self-titled LP, their collaborative release with Braveyoung, and most notoriously, their revered and feared 2010-released All The Waters Of The Earth Turns To Blood.

THE BODY will be taking their terror door-to-door this Spring and Summer with an eleven-town cross-country trek now scheduled in the first half of May. June will see them handling two nights in Brooklyn with different opening lineups mid-month. At the end of June THE BODY will join Los Crudos, Iron Lung, Talk Is Poison and more at This Is Not a Step Fest in Berkeley, California, followed by a West Coast run with support from Subservient Fuck. Stay tuned, as more live excursions are being devised.

THE BODY: Video Documents Mass Suicide Aftermath, Caustic Soundtrack

Wednesday, April 10th, 2013

Deep in the rural vastness of the upper Northeastern region of the country, white birch and conifer bodies now mournfully envelop a most gruesome landscape. The crime lab sorts through the aftermath of the heinous ritual which ensued on this property the previous evening — an abhorrent mass suicide, likely devout to a faction, cause, or reasoning experts have not yet been able to establish.

As captured by those first on the scene, this appalling footage has been accompanied with the endtime preachings of none other than THE BODY, perpetrators of this atrocity, with coercion and guidance from thee director, Richard Rankin.

Witness these atrocities for yourself THROUGH THIS PORTAL TO NOISEY/VICE.

Master, We Perish was captured at Providence, Rhode Island-based Machines With Magnets (Battles, Daughters, Lightning Bolt, Chinese Stars). Blackened bursts of noise-drenched, low-fi doom are fueled by percussionist Lee Buford’s hypnotic, tribal rhythms via thunderous macaroni drums, the melee infiltrated by guitarist/vocalist Chip King’s penetrating vocal screech. The clan also recruited Leslie Weitz (Otesanek), Chrissy Wolpert (Assembly Of Light Choir) and Reba Mitchell (Whore Paint) for vocal contributions throughout the torrid endeavor adding an array of eerie dynamics to the songs. THE BODY will unleash Master, We Perish as a 12” EP, CDEP, cassette and digital download on April 30th once again via At A Loss Recordings. Preorders can be placed here.

THE BODY Preaches End-Time Sermon Through New Hymn At Pitchfork

Friday, March 29th, 2013

Even though recent warnings of new hymns from apocalyptic sludge ministers THE BODY have been released, you have failed to listen and repent, and now it appears it’s too late, as today the first of three new orations has been revealed.

The prophetic new hymnal from THE BODY, Master, We Perish is a three-song prelude to mankind’s demise, a message which can be felt firsthand with the opening mantra, “The Ebb And Flow Of Tides In A Sea Of Ash.” The distressing wail of an air-raid siren barely has time to sound before the listener is inundated in the oppressive surge of THE BODY’s patented form of primal, anti-life worship.

Find yourself washing upon dead shores of a blackened land in “The Ebb And Flow Of Tides In A Sea Of Ash” now through Pitchfork.

THE BODY: New Scourge From Apocalyptic Duo Set For Release Via At A Loss

Friday, March 22nd, 2013

In an ongoing pilgrimage towards the apocalypse and perpetual hatred for humankind, earthmoving doom duo THE BODY will dispense their latest scourge upon the masses in the coming weeks.

The newest wave of abhorrence from the nomadic family, Master, We Perish shows THE BODY’s nihilistic audio terror ever-forward with three new tunes sure to cause birds to fall from the sky and traumatize nonbelievers, once again recorded at Providence, Rhode Island-based Machines With Magnets (Battles, Daughters, Lightning Bolt, Chinese Stars). Saddened confessions of mental anguish are ended with a pump of a shotgun, a sludgy foreshadowing of the coming explosion of tortured screams. Feedback and noise erupt into the slow crush and the bellowing of an end to beliefs and an end to these truths…

With mangled-human cover art by Manifester, Master, We Perish is to be released as a 12” EP, CDEP, cassette and digital download on April 30th. The new hymns are to be disbursed once again by At A Loss Recordings, the group who also claimed responsibility for previous attacks from THE BODY including last year’s reissue of the band’s self-titled LP, their collaborative release with Braveyoung, and most notoriously, their revered and feared 2010-released All The Waters Of The Earth Turns To Blood. Preorders of all formats are available here.

Stay tuned to your trusted media sources for further updates as transmissions from THE BODY and their latest endtime message are broadcasted in the coming weeks.

THE BODY: Reissue Of Debut Album Now Streaming At Vice Magazine

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

Today the long out-of-print self-titled debut album from apocalyptic sludge duo THE BODY is officially available again worldwide via At A Loss Recordings. Initially released in 2004 — years before their acclaimed sophomore LP All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood and their collaborative LP with Braveyoung — this new version of The Body was remixed/remastered at Machines With Magnets, where THE BODY has recorded all of their albums to date.

With the album now available again, the deviants at Vice Magazine, who goddamn love THE BODY’s bulldozing savagery, have posted a track-by-track breakdown of the album by the band, in addition to a stream of the entire album.

Let THE BODY’s end-time thunder abuse you RIGHT HERE.

THE BODY originally released their self-titled album on Moganono Records in 2004, before they had begun to infiltrate their apocalyptic sludge hymns with lush vocal choirs, orchestral movements and industrial noise programming. But while a bit more atavistic in nature, the album bears nearly forty-five minutes of THE BODY’s now renowned slow-motion dirge riffs, innards-shifting low-end tones, chaotic instrumental breaks, repetitive/building tonal movements, and sinister shrieking, sure to satisfy the doomsday urges within any fans of the band’s newer, more recognized releases.

THE BODY have confirmed several Northwest shows with their brothers in Whitehorse for the first week of July. In August THE BODY will tour the entire West Coast of the US with The Assembly Of Light Choir and Braveyoung, with several dates confirmed and more performances still being added to the tour.

THE BODY w/ Whitehorse:
7/03/2012 Plan B – Portland, OR w/ Atriarch, Usnea
7/05/2012 The Shakedown – Bellingham, WA
7/06/2012 The Highline – Seattle, WA

THE BODY w/ Braveyoung, The Assembly Of Light Choir:

THE BODY & BRAVEYOUNG: Collaborative Album To See Vinyl Release

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Following an initial CD release in September 2011, amidst several regional tours together, Nothing Passes — the collaborative release between apocalyptic noise/doom duo THE BODY and orchestral rock harbingers BRAVEYOUNG — will now get the deluxe vinyl treatment.

Recorded in a collaborative session at Providence’s Machines With Magnets (Battles, Daughters, Lightning Bolt, Chinese Stars), Nothing Passes is a layered but cohesive voyage through cavernous, noise-laden tumult and chaos, ethereal horror-soundtrack creepouts and even serene acoustic passages, exploring new styles for both acts. The album features vocal contributions from members of The Assembly Of Light Choir who have collaborated live with THE BODY and BRAVEYOUNG, as well as a cover of Exuma’s song, The Vision.

Set for release via At A Loss Recordings, the label responsible for releasing the initial CD version, the LP version of Nothing Passes will be available to the public on April 24th. The black vinyl pressing is housed in a high-quality chipboard cover with an uncoated heavyweight insert. Preorders can now be placed RIGHT HERE.

Additionally, The Assembly Of Light Choir — who appear on Nothing Passes, in addition to playing a major role in THE BODY’s groundbreaking 2010-released All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood LP — are preparing to release a new album this May. The ensemble have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project AT THIS LOCATION.
