Following their tour of Australian in April, followed by an East Coast run including a massive set at the fifteenth anniversary of the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival, and most recently West Coast touring alongside the likes of Rotten Sound and more, BLACK BREATH today announces their next run of live confrontations.

Four new cities have been scheduled for BLACK BREATH’s demolition in early August, including Portland, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles and Oakland. The Seattle savages will be flanked by backup provided by Mammoth Grinder on the first three dates and Obliterations on two of them, which end up seeing all three bands taking part in The Power Of The Riff in LA with The Obsessed, Final Conflict, From Ashes Rise, Hirax, M.D.C., Iceburn, Bastard Noise, Early Graves, Dead In The Dirt and a ton of others. The next day in Oakland will see Early Graves and Obliterations jointing once again.

This newest run will be preceded by a hometown gig on July 13th as BLACK BREATH provide direct support for the legendary Autopsy playing their first Seattle gig ever, with additional support from Scolex and Bone Sickness.

Following a wildly victorious tour alongside cult metal sorcerers, Ghost B.C., Los Angeles’ favorite ethereal doom dealers IDES OF GEMINI today unveil a brand new video for the track “Starless Midnight” via Cvlt Nation. Elaborates guitarist J. Bennett “We shot this video in the middle of nowhere during an off day on the Ghost B.C. tour. It was directed by our friend Daciana Birladeanu, a Romanian sorceress who also happens to be my cousin. The process basically consisted of me complaining for eight hours while the girls did all the work. But at least I got to wear my Shriner belt buckle. Enjoy!”

Driven by chemical despondency and the liberation of low-end audio scum, Nashville-based gruesome twosome BLACK TAR PROPHET has confirmed that their pending second LP will see release via D.I.Y. noisemongers Domestic Genocide.

Bearing a noxious brew of fuzz and misery-powered fuckcrush akin to Bongzilla, Buzzov*en, Weedeater, Noothgrush and the like, yet void of any vocal contributions, it’s pretty obvious from opening note to crushing closing of every track what the instrumental act is focused on; playing purely pummeling auditory filth with corrosive drugs coursing through it all.

Since their 2011 convergence the duo BLACK TAR PROPHET has soiled the lands with a rash of demo releases, and in 2012 released both a one-song/forty-two minute album called Note To Nod, and a split with Atlanta act Crawl, with a lineup shift happening the same year amidst the plethora of recordings coming into existence. They’ve endured tours of the Southern US states, and have tore up local venues with countless regional acts including Order Of The Owl, Backwoods Payback, Before The Eyewall, Crawl, Gorgantherron, Ponykiller, Motherplant and many more. The band will focus on intoxicating more audiences in the live setting over the rest of 2013 as they conjure and capture the material for their new full-length which will see release in early 2014 via Domestic Genocide.

In the meantime, BLACK TAR PROPHET will continue to bring the pain live. The newest batch of tour dates will begin this Friday, June 21st as the band begins burning through clubs across through ten cities in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Georgia. On August 24th they’ll take part in Doom At The Beach II in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with Halmos, Crawl, Dead Southern Bishop, Heathen Bastard, Snake Oil, Greenseer, Grim Creeper, Compel, Tripping The Mechanism and more. Relentlessly savage, utterly memorable, and at all times compelling, the sophomore LP from TWITCHING TONGUES takes all of this devotion to the next level. With nearly forty minutes of uncompromising crossover fury, In Love There Is No Law melds elements of Carnivore, Obituary, Celtic Frost, Life Of Agony, Sam Black Church, elder Cro-Mags and Sheer Terror into an instantly mesmerizing, morose and wholly distinctive alloy of metal, hardcore and beyond. Preceding the release of the LP, this week TWITCHING TONGUES and Closed Casket release a brand new 7”/digital single for the title track and arguably the most iconic and encompassing song on In Love There Is No Law, in addition dropping the band’s first official video, the brilliant HD visual depiction of “In Love There Is No Law” was filmed, directed and edited by Joel Perkins.

Neo-barbarians TWITCHING TONGUES have proven themselves as a hard working unit with their own goals, passing by contemporary acts on a daily basis — not only proving themselves as band with their own vision to be superseded by none, but in the end constantly producing a sound that is unarguably all their own by disregarding modern trends in metal and hardcore and coalescing into its own living, breathing, and dying entity. A 2010 formation quickly gave way to local shows in the LA area as well as a demo, which was followed by a 7” single, their first and second US tours, their first European tour, and a crushing slot on Southern Cali’s Sound & Fury Festival. 2012 was arguably even busier for TWITCHING TONGUES, as they released their debut LP Sleep Therapy as well as their Preacher Man single, toured the US for the third time, toured Europe for the second time, pounded the West Coast of the US with regional shows and two full tours, and killed audiences at massive stateside hardcore festivals including Rain Fest in Seattle and This Is Hardcore in Philadelphia.

Recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK and produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Opeth, Megadeth, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage) Deceiver Of The Gods boasts another exceptional Tom Thiel-created cover depicting a mythical battle between the Norse Gods Loki and Thor.

Though the record isn’t limited to one specific theme, the character of Loki, commonly thought of as a dark and mischievous entity, has a strong presence, and also inspired the title Deceiver Of The Gods. For Hegg however, the appeal of the character lies with the fact he is not simply drawn in black and white, as others might believe. “I think what’s intriguing about him is that he’s probably the most human of all the gods in northern mythology. A lot of people see him as an evil character, but he’s not the equivalent of Satan. He also does a lot of good things, and particularly with his talent for diplomacy he manages to get the gods out of trouble a lot of times. The only problem is that he’s usually the one that gets them into trouble in the first place! I just think he is really engaging in that he possesses a lot of human traits in the sense that we can do good and bad. We can be fantastic people and great people and huge people, and we can be very, very small people. We can be small minded and egocentric and devious and all of those negative things, and I like how he reflects that.”

After releasing their damaging debut LP Manégarmr through Southern Lord worldwide in April, Belgium’s ominous metal/hardcore unit HESSIAN has slightly revamped the band’s moniker due to pending legalities, the band to now be known as HESSIAN A.D. on American soil moving forward.

Acknowledged the band in a collective statement: “Due to legal reasons, we have been forced to change the band’s name to HESSIAN A.D. on American territory. This, however, only covers U.S. territory; we will still continue to play under the old HESSIAN flag in all other parts of the world. Sadly this change is completely beyond our control and it’s not very much to our liking. But, rest assured, we will continue to give this band and this music our all. Thank you all for your support.”

This minor inconvenience aside, HESSIAN A.D. will move forward with their brutal Summer tour actions in continuing support of Manégarmr, with shows booked across the continent through late September and more performances being booked and confirmed all the time. From the onset, the combined musical backgrounds of this quartet featuring members of Amenra and The Black Heart Rebellion, and part of the Church Of Ra sect fell effortlessly into place, pushing a sound that was at once pummeling, devouring and empowering across the rural fields where they started rehearsing. After a well received debut EP, a split 7″ with Amenra, a split LP with Pale Creation on Magic Bullet Records and countless shows throughout Europe, HESSIAN A.D. has found a new home with Southern Lord for the relase of their debut LP Manégarmr, the album showcasing the outfit’s searing amalgam of aggressive punk and metal-infused hardcore, mournful riffs and battering breakdowns surging with more conviction than ever.

In conjunction with the release of Reflection Of The Negative — their split album with local doom outfit Windhand, released by Relapse in April — Richmond, Virginia-based sludge crew COUGH took to Europe on a three-week tour with included performances at Copenhagen, Denmark’s Heavy Days in Doomtown festival, as well as the massive annual Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Holland. For a limited time, audio evidence of band’s entire fifty-minute set is streaming at massive Dutch portal Vpro 3voor12 as well as the official Roadburn website.

Additionally, COUGH is one of the main acts confirmed to invade New York City at the end of next week for Martyrdoom II, the second annual installment of the massive underground doom/black/death gathering. Running from Friday, June 28th through Sunday the 30th, the brutal lineup of nearly thirty acts including Atrum Inritus, Decrepitaph, Kommandant, Ptahil, Morbosidad, Bestial Mockery, Crucifier, Hour of 13, Morpheus Descends, Bastard Sapling and more set to overthrow two clubs in the city, COUGH set to perform the opening night at Manhattan’s club Paper Box.
