The EOLIAN EMPIRE’s January 2015 Antagonistic Impulses For Their Own Amusement; HUMOURS, TINY KNIVES, ÅRABROT, NORSKA, DEAD, WHORES And Much Mores

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

It’s that time of the month, when the EOLIAN mob unleashes its antagonistic impulses on the public for their own amusement.

It ain’t just 503 and 971 any more folks… start punching in those country codes because shit’s going international. The fifteen-track (We’ve Got) FIENDS IN LOW PLACES: Heavy Vibes Internationale compilation goes live one week from today, featuring your new favorite heavy underground bands from across the globe: ÅRABROT (Norway), BASTARD OF THE SKIES (UK), BATPISS (Australia), CYBERNE (Japan), DEAD (Australia), ELEPHANT RIFLE (USA), THE GREAT SABATINI (Canada), HEALTH PROBLEMS (USA), HOMBRE MALO (Norway), MEADOWS (UK), MOE (Norway), SAME-SEX DICTATOR (USA), TEEPH (USA), THROAT (Finland) and TIMEKILLER (Brazil). It’s a wild fifty-five-minute trip through twisted noise rock, bludgeoning sludge, psychotic metal, blackened hardcore, and damaged punk, each act’s warped worldview in full effect. You get the impression these characters all have a sense of humor (er, humour) too. You can order the limited cassette version (edition of 333) HERE or, if you’re into the whole brevity thing, pre-order the digital version HERE. The digital preorder gets you five tracks immediately: the three already premiered tracks plus two more; the full comp will be released Tuesday morning. Look for a full stream on Monday.

This Spring and Summer expect exciting releases from both Portland and international friends and family.  First up is the debut release from HUMOURS, The Onanist. The four-song EP will be released on limited cassette and digital, giving you a taste before their first full-length LP due this Fall. The four-piece strips Crimsonesque prog to its stark elements and fuses it with the energy and abandon of Jawbox and Drive Like Jehu, flitting through complex movements with a mastery of dynamics and accented by strong, melodic vocals.  Get a taste with “In the Court of the Corn-Eyed King” from EOLIAN’s KEEP OUR HEADS compilation HERE.

Next up is TINY KNIVES with their latest record and first 12-inch, Black Haze. Fixtures of the Portland underground scene for the last five years, TINY KNIVES combine the art punk of Crass and Rudimentary Peni with the frenzied rock ‘n’ roll of Lunachicks and The Dictators. The trio of stylistic shapeshifters marries disparate influences ranging from tumultuous full-speed-ahead riffers to heavy emotional bulldozers. Check out the powerful “Ocean of Static Sky” from their previous release, Static, on local compatriot label Stankhouse Records HERE.

True Norwegian noise rockers ÅRABROT are mixing the four tracks for the third EP in their three-EP series, following Murder As Art and the recent I Modi, to be released this Summer for their first ever full US tour. ÅRABROT wowed European audiences all last year with their powerful live show (read all about it via The Quietus HERE) and it’s about time US audiences get hip to one of the best heavy bands out there. Expect more twisted, raucous rock ‘n’ roll with unstoppable off-the-hook hooks and off-the-chart dynamics. Meantime get weird with their exceptionally bawdy track “The Libertine” on the FIENDS IN LOW PLACES compilation.

The burly NORSKA is finishing up tracks in Portland at Toadhouse Studios with Adam Pike (Red Fang, Diesto, Black Elk) for the long overdue follow-up to their acclaimed 2011 EP on Brutal Panda. Expanded now to a five-piece, early reports suggest the band is taking it up to the next level in a big way. NORSKA draws from throughout the heavy musical realms to forge their own extraordinarily compelling amalgam of rock, metal, and prog, and the new album builds upon songs and riffs from throughout the history of the band. Watch out for them this year. Bide your time with “Esotre” from the KEEP OUR HEADS comp HERE.

They’re back. Australia’s DEAD is another one of those international bands too many heavy music fans have been sleeping on. EOLIAN is thrilled to be issuing the stateside release of their third LP, Captains Of Industry, to coincide with a full US Summer tour. The downunder bass-and-drums duo once again beats you about the head with stripped-down but mighty mind-melters, the occasional respite via ambient experimental pieces. The recording by Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Big Business) captures their unholy marriage of sharp bass riffage and hardcore drum acrobatics punctuated by shout-along vocal bursts.  EOLIAN has a few hand-screened copies of the We Empty Rooms (Australia) version of the LP HERE, and international customers can get it HERE. DEAD also has a track “Rabbits” on the new FIENDS comp, dedicated to those lowly Portland lagomorphs. Touching.

And finally, second wave ATL noise rockers WHORES, comrades in shit-starting, hit the road with Retox in March. Praised for their festival performances last year and their bludgeoning track on volume 13 of AmRep’s Dope, Guns, and Fucking in the Streets (HERE), their first trip ever to the West Coast will no doubt reignite that dormant East vs. West rivalry. Maybe it’ll get RABBITS off their ass to tromp around the East Coast. Check out their sludge-fucked version of The Cure’s “Jumping Someone Else’s Train” from their split with RABBITS right HERE. Full WHORES tour dates below. WHORES. Has a nice ring to it.

Are you aware that every LP (and an EP) EOLIAN released in 2014 ended up on a year-end list? Not bad for a bunch of misanthropes. And EOLIAN is now carrying distro for like-minded labels like Learning Curve, We Empty Rooms, Made In Kansas, Kaos Kontrol, and more.  Get the goods at

GOATSNAKE Announces European Tour; New Album Details Soon To Be Revealed

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

Los Angeles, California’s GOATSNAKE has announced further live dates in Europe, kicking off at the end of May with their set at Temples Festival, and taking the band through territories new to them. This news comes alongside the completion of the recording of the band’s new album, which will see release on Southern Lord this Summer.

The new GOATSNAKE album will feature the familiar faces of Greg Rogers (The Obsessed, Sonic Medusa), providing drums, Greg Anderson (Sunn O)))) taking care of the riffs, Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool, Earthlings?) on vocals, and new bassist new and Cape Fear North Carolina legend Scott Renner (Brickbat, Sourvein, Sonic Medusa). On production duties is Nick Raskulinecz, who, since being introduced to Dave Grohl during the recording sessions of Flower of Disease, has gone on to work with seminal artists such as Rush, Alice In Chains, Mastodon and Ghost, and has won Grammys with The Foo Fighters. United again, he and the band are sure to serve a menacing cut of the time-honored, ultra-heavy rock they are infamous for.

While further details on the record are to come, Greg Anderson offered some advance insight: “We are beyond stoked about the new ‘Snake album. We all rose to the occasion and with the help of Nick and the state of Tennessee delivered the fucking goods. More soul, more power, more balls.”

DISCOURSE Now Streaming Entire Debut LP Via Revolver Magazine; Sanity Decays Out Today Via Closed Casket Activities

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

Revolver Magazine is now hosting a stream of Sanity Decays, the debut LP from Columbia, South Carolina act, DISCOURSE, as Troy, New York-based label Closed Casket Activities officially releases the album today.

A young act with several prior EPs and comp inclusions on their résumé, DISCOURSE’s rib-snapping delivery is finally fully realized on their first full-length release, as Sanity Decays drops nearly twenty-seven minutes of rampant tunes which recall respected heroes’ past works with contemporary revitalization. Meshing angular and technical influences from the likes of Turmoil, Indecision, Botch and others with a slick approach which will undoubtedly draw fans of other top quality vigorous punk/metal-influenced hardcore acts, DISCOURSE recorded the music for Sanity Decays with Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos) at Bricktop Recording Studio in Chicago, and the vocals at The Jam Room with Jay Matheson in the band’s hometown. Nelson mixed the album, and it was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Integrity, Nails, Tragedy), the final platter shrouded in cover art by Jesse Schaller (Skeletonwitch, Xibalba, Suburban Scum).

In recognition of its street date, Revolver Magazine is now streaming DISCOURSE’s Sanity Decays in its entirety at THIS LOCATION.

The 12” vinyl edition of Sanity Decays is now available in three color schemes — 150 on black/pink split, 350 on tan with splatters, and 500 clear — all including a digital download card. Orders can be placed, right HERE, including shirt and package bundle deals, and the digital is available HERE.

With a Southeastern US tour alongside cohorts, Blistered, and appearances at February’s Midwest Blood Fest with Bitter End, Fire & Ice, Naysayer, Bent Life and April’s New England Metal & Hardcore Festival alongside Code Orange, Homewrecker, Overcast and more confirmed, DISCOURSE is just days from announcing another wave of tour dates in support of Sanity Decays, which will continue to be the case throughout the year. Stand by.

GNAW THEIR TONGUES: The Quietus Displays “A Fiery Deluge” From 2xCD Early Works Collection; Added To Maryland Deathfest + Apex Fest

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

Collected Atrocities 2005-2008, the demoralizing 2xCD early works collection from the torturous Dutch black/noise metal executioner Mories performing as GNAW THEIR TONGUES, is now just a week from release via Crucial Blast Records, and The Quietus today reintroduces a previously out-of-print track in commemoration of the impending street date. Initially unveiled on the limited For All Slaves… A Song Of False Hope CD, released in 2009 via Burning World Records, the more than eight-minute decimation of “A Fiery Deluge” is once again available for public intoxication, its waves of clanking bass and sweltering noise aiding the plodding electronically-manipulated chaos amidst a backdrop of exasperated cries of torment.

Witness the renaissance of GNAW THEIR TONGUES’ incinerating, “A Fiery Deluge,” at THIS LOCATION.

Also from Collected Atrocities 2005-2008, the previously unavailable track “Slaves” is playing at Sound Colour Vibration RIGHT HERE, and the re-unleashed “Glorification Of Rats” from the 2007-released Prefering Human Skin Over Animal Fur release HERE.

Collected Atrocities 2005-2008 is set for release on February 3rd; preorders for the 2xCD package including a massive color booklet and more are available, including a t-shirt bundle. Check out the detailed packaging through a new Youtbe vid-ad HERE and place orders for physical product HERE and the digital HERE.

Having only begun performing these cruel anthems live in the past several years, Mories will bring GNAW THEIR TONGUES and side-project, Aderlating, stateside for the very first time in 2015, with several new performances confirmed. The first stateside live set will take place at this year’s Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore, as GNAW THEIR TONGUES takes the stage alongside Adversarial, Demoncy and Tsjuder at Ram’s Head Live on Saturday, May 23rd. Several days later, GTT will invade NYC to take part in the 6th bi-annual, multiple-day Apex Fest, with the venue, dates and final lineup to be announced in the coming days. The news of these new live actions comes in addition to the recent announcement of the band’s upcoming inclusion on the inaugural California Deathfest, initiated by the creators of Maryland Deathfest, October 9th through 11th in Oakland alongside Ævangelist, Antediluvian, Autopsy, Disma, Ghoul, Impaled, Loss, Noothgrush and Worship.

5/23/2015 Ram’s Head Live – Baltimore MD @ Maryland Deathfest [info]
10/09-11/2015 Oakland Metro – Oakland, CA @ California Deathfest [info]

Now in its tenth year, Dutch avant-black/doom entity, GNAW THEIR TONGUES has been infecting the underground with a uniquely disturbing brand of chaotic heaviness. Fusing together malevolent, rumbling doom with rabid, noise-damaged aggression and blasts of fearsome orchestral power and industrial pandemonium, and draping these lurching, hellish dirges in an oppressive atmosphere thick with horror and despair, the intensely nightmarish music of GNAW THEIR TONGUES defies easy categorization. The construction and execution of these hymns is the work of sole architect and madman, Mories, also known for other destructive output with Cloak of Altering, Pyriphlegethon, De Magia Veterum, Aderlating, Mors Sonat, Pompidou, Dimlit Hate Cellar and others. Before the debut An Epiphanic Vomiting Of Blood LP in 2007, GNAW THEIR TONGUES crawled into the black metal/industrial underground via a number of EPs which quickly went out of print, and are now sought after by fans of the band’s abject blackened horror. Collected Atrocities 2005-2008 is a new double CD anthology that gathers together essential, out-of-print early recordings from the band that span the first three years of GNAW THEIR TONGUES’s existence, compiling the Prefering Human Skin Over Animal Fur, Horse Drawn Hearse and For All Slaves… A Song Of False Hope EPs, the material from the Static Hymnal compilation, and other rarities from the bowels of the GTT archive.

IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT: NYC Experimental Black Metal Tacticians To Unleash Abyssal Gods; New Hymn Streaming At Decibel + Live Demolitions Confirmed

Monday, January 26th, 2015

New York City experimental black metal tacticians, IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT, will release their long-awaited new full-length this March via Italy-based Aural Music’s Code666 imprint.

Titled Abyssal Gods, the band’s second long player was captured at Solitude Studios in Pennsylvania and Amy Mills Studios (Couch Slut, Epistasis) in New York , mixed and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice, Nader Sadek, Atheist, Origin etc.) at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves in New York and boasts the apocalyptic cover craftings of Andrew Tremblay (Deadbots, Downlow’d, Deathface etc.). Focused on urban decay and the imminent extinction of mankind, IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT’s Abyssal Gods serves as the follow-up to the band’s critically applauded, 2013-released Goliath EP and contains ten punishingly traumatic odes of strategically composed black-addled mayhem bedecked in angular riff incursions, bestial vocal tirades and an overall air of disease, dread and looming disaster as well as a guest appearance by Bloody Panda’s Yoshiko Ohara and more.

In celebration of the record’s impending unveiling, today Decibel Magazine heaves forth apocalyptic third movement, “Dead Heaven.” Elaborates founder/main composer, Ilya Ezrin, “Although we are proud to be born in such a renown place, Abyssal Gods as a whole addresses New York City as a cancer of the world and the absolute fist of the universe. ‘Dead Heaven’ is the psalm of the end of the world. It deals with the universal deconstruction and celestial collapse. The lyrics were actually inspired by the observatory space lecture scene in Rebel Without A Cause.”

Hear the sounds of a dying planet, as curated by IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT, at THIS LOCATION.

Abyssal Gods Track Listing:
1. From Palaces of the Hive
2. Abyssal Gods
3. Dead Heaven
4. Celestial War Rape
5. Opposing Holiness
6. Krokodil
7. Twins
8. Vatican Lust
9. Black Psychedelia
10. Metropolis

In related news, IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT will bring their infernal psalms to the stage alongside Canadian black metal heathens, Thantifaxath, on a near-two-week run of live incursions this Spring. The march will begin at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, New York and storm its way through ten cities, with the tour coming to close at Baltimore at the Maryland Deathfest. The band will also play a one off show at The Acheron in Brooklyn, New York next month with additional live debauchery to be announced in the weeks to come.

2/20/2015 The Ahceron – Brooklyn, NY w/ Mountain God, Hercyn [info]
w/ Thantifaxath:

Once commended by No Clean Singing for, “a sickening scintillation of the surreal and the sadistic that together conjure an evocative glimpse into hell,” IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT has been orchestrating vanguard black metal since 2005. Citing an eclectic palette of influences that includes everything from Deathspell Omega to Polish post-serialism composer Krzysztof Penderecki, the band features members of investigational death metal contortionists, Pyrrhon as well as instrumental rock collective Secret Chiefs 3 and New York death metal legion Malignancy

Abyssal Gods will be released in North America on March 10th, 2015 via Aural Music/Code666. Preorders to be announced shortly.

COWARDS: Official Video For “Bend The Knee” Released Via Metal Injection; Rise To Infamy Available For Free Download

Monday, January 26th, 2015

While the unrelenting cruelty of COWARDS’ second LP, Rise To Infamy, now just three weeks from its official physical release, the French quartet releases their official video for “Bend The Knee,” through Metal Injection, as the album is offered for FREE digital download. Directed by Jakub at Chariot Of Black Moth, the “Bend The Knee” video sees brief glimpses of the band’s unfuckwithable live set splintered into stark, nightmarish black and white storyline fragments, showcasing the creepily artistic and outwardly aggressive tendencies of the Parisian quintet.

“Bend The Knee” now infiltrates society through Metal Injection from THIS LOCATION.

COWARDSRise To Infamy will be released February 9th worldwide on a variety of formats through a network of underground labels, including Throatruiner Records, RVINS Records and Deadlight Entertainment. This conglomeration realizes that humans will uncaringly pirate and consume this recording through illegal channels prior to its release, so the entire album is being offered at high-quality for free via Bandcamp at RIGHT HERE.

For the true supporters, both a digipak CD version of Rise To Infamy as well as 180-gram LP (150 on clear, 350 on black) editions have been procured, the vinyl in heavyweight jackets with spot UV varnish. A massive bundle deal including all physical editions and a shirt is available from COWARDS directly RIGHT HERE. Additionally, preorders for the CD and shirt bundles are available through Deadlight Entertainment HERE, and LP and shirt bundles via RVINS Records HERE and Throatruiner Records HERE.

COWARDS guitarist Adrien L also recently discussed the band’s atrocious tones through a gear feature for PureGrainAudio discussing his custom 1983 Gibson setup and more HERE.

With additional widespread European tour dates to be announced shortly, and a possible North American invasion later this year, COWARDS are already taking their new hymns to the road this Winter. View the latest round of live excursions below and watch for many more to be announced.

COWARDS Tour Dates:
2/08/2015 Burning Light Fest – Lisbon, PT w/ Bölzer, Plebeian Grandstand, Oathbreaker, Black Heart Rebellion, Acid Deathtrip, more [info]
3/05/2015 La Scène Michelet – Nantes, FR w/ Calvaiire, Like Pigs On Embers
3/06/2015 TBA – Rouen, FR
3/07/2015 Le Bocal – Caen, FR w/ Maussade, Defiance

The COWARDS sound dredges forth a deep, oppressive, urban harshness amidst their crushing wall of amplification which stabs blackened sludge metal savagery into the band’s Holy Terror/H8000 inspired-hardcore. The levels of aggression on Rise To Infamy are difficult to endure; everything the band has managed to capture here is meant to inflict maximum aural damage. Recorded by trusted engineer Francis Caste at Sainte Marthe Studio (Arkhon Infaustus, Eibon, Kickback), the band’s monstrous tones here sound more callous than ever. This is nothing but a monument of down-to-earth, unvarnished violence, punishing from start to finish.

KARMA TO BURN: Instrumental Stoner Rock Titans Release Two Arch Stanton Behind-The-Scenes Video Clips Via The Obelisk; Band Issues North American Tour Update

Monday, January 26th, 2015

West Virginia instrumental stoner rock kings, KARMA TO BURN, who are currently in the midst of a gargantuan North American live takeover, are pleased to unleash a pair of Arch Stanton behind-the-scenes video clips. Produced by Snakehill Productions and currently playing courtesy of premiere riff portal, The Obelisk, the clips find the trio discussing preferred tracks, favorite vocalists, dead or alive, tour life and more!

Get viewing at The Obelisk at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, check out KARMA TO BURN’s live video for the track “57” still playing at Decibel at THIS LOCATION.

Initially released in Europe last Summer via Switzerland-based Faba Records, KARMA TO BURN’s groove-laden Arch Stanton long player became available by the label domestically earlier this month. The band’s sixth studio album and third since reforming following their seven-year hiatus in 2009, Arch Stanton is reminiscent of their now iconic Wild Wonderful Purgatory and Almost Heathen offerings, channeling the true essence of the road-raging, riff rock ritual. The Sludgelord calls Arch Stanton, “a thrilling and explosive ride,” that, “firmly puts KARMA TO BURN at the forefront of instrumental stoner rock,” Metal Injection commends the band’s long-standing, “fiery irreverence,” further celebrating a record that’s, “full of heart, soul and the occasional rocking surprise,” while This Is Not A Scene opines in glowing  9/10 review of the record,  “If each of the eight tracks on here don’t have you nodding your head, or at least tapping your feet, then you may actually be dead.” New Noise Magazine agrees, “The riffs on this album are absolutely jaw-dropping,” Skulls N Bones calls Arch Stanton, “intense and unbridled,” and likens it to, “a speedy pill with no hangover,” while The Signal notes poignantly, “Throughout the record, volcanic riffs… surge and snap over winding, propulsive bass in sinister, darkened tones. Cymbals crash and fall in a savage dance around the pounding rhythms. Each instrument comes together for smoldering jam after smoldering jam…KARMA TO BURN re-proves their competency as a meat and potatoes stoner metal band.” Adds Dead Rhetoric in an 8/10 score, “Unsung as they are, KARMA TO BURN deserves a vast amount of credit for holding down the no-vocals fort, as well as remaining viable well into the latter stages of their career. If Arch Stanton proves anything, it’s that the West Virginia trio were right all along, and, the rest of the instrumental metal brigade owes a vast amount of debt to the band who was the first out of the gate.”

KARMA TO BURN are currently levying their blues-tinged, bong-ripping, riff decadence upon the ears of North American residents. Now more than half way through their extensive expedition, drummer Evan Devine checked in from their New Orleans stop late last week, “When we arrived at the venue, Siberia , we were treated to some genuine New Orleans music. The band was called The Salt Wives, all-acoustic, brass, an accordion… and these guys were singing everything from Irish folk songs to Eastern bloc gypsy tunes, I think we heard four different languages over the course of their two sets. It ruled. We spent some time around Bourbon Street, but the majority of it was spent in a small corner diner called The Clover Grill. Best diner we’ve been to yet, and we’ve tried a lot of diners.” Check out some photos below.

THEOLOGIAN: New York Noise/Industrial Outfit Confirms Winter/Spring Live Actions, New Material

Monday, January 26th, 2015

New York industrial/noise/power electronics entity, THEOLOGIAN, has penned several new live actions for the coming months, beginning with a performance at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus Bar this Thursday, January 29th supporting British sound experimentalists and Crucial Blast labelmates, Ramleh. Another show at Saint Vitus Bar is slated for March 20th with Dispirit and others, and another performance set for April 17th in Baltimore with Father Murphy. Additional live announcements will follow in the coming weeks.

THEOLOGIAN’s latest works have just been unleashed on January 7th in the form of Pain Of The Saints, a brutalizing two-disc venture released via Malignant Records — the first disc, Piss, and the second, Jism. With twenty nightmarish hymns orchestrated by Theologian Prime, a.k.a. Leech, and featuring returning collaborators Matt Slagle and Fade Kainer (Batillus, Statiqbloom), guest contributions from David Castillo, Joan Hacker, Crimson Joules, Christiana Key, Matthew Melnick, Eric J. Morgan, Jessica Way and more also infiltrate the mix.

Pain Of The Saints follows THEOLOGIAN’s Some Things Have To Be Endured, released by Crucial Blast in 2013 on CD and digitally, and followed by a massive vinyl edition later. With eight new tracks of punishing black industrial, apocalyptic darkwave frequencies, and nerve-rending electronic deathscapes, Some Things Have To Be Endured is a collection of collaborations between Theologian and a lineup of female vocalists/artists from both within the industrial / noise / dark ambient / coldwave realm and beyond, with contributions from Rachael Kozak (Hecate), Kristen MacArthur (Sewer Goddess), Rachel Maloney (Tonikom), Nikki Telladictorian (Prometheus Burning), Patricia Benitez (Fetish Drone), Gillian Leigh Bowling (Teloahqaal), Christiana Key (Delphic Oracle), Joan Hacker (Factoria), Shari Vari (Void Vision), and professional opera singer Melissa C. Kelly. The album was co-produced with Derek Rush/Dream Into Dust and mastered by James Plotkin.

The entire 2xCD Pain Of The Saints is streaming via Malignant Records HERE, and Some Things Have To Be Endured via Crucial Blast HERE.

THEOLOGIAN was featured in Decibel Magazine’s August 2014 issue, dedicated to noise artists, which included an interview with mastermind Leech, and listed the outfit’s The Chasms Of My Heart in their Top 25 Noise Albums of All Time.

1/29/2015 Saint Vitus Bar – Brooklyn, NY w/ Ramleh, JFK, Alberich, York Factory Complaint
3/20/2015 Saint Vitus Bar – Brooklyn, NY w/ Dispirit, Vorde, Anicon
4/17/2015 Holy Underground – Baltimore, MD w/ Father Murphy, Jeff Carey

Additional new material from THEOLOGIAN is under construction and more is in the planning stages for execution and release before the end of the year. Stand by for further transmissions in the coming weeks.

With a slick, streetwise, tension-fueled and beatdown-fueled delivery, End is the first release from Philly-area’s international touring beast, CDC, in over five years, recorded with Vince Ratti at Skylight Studio (Balance And Composure, Title Fight, Turmoil) and mastered by Will Yip at Studio 4 (Cop Problem, Lauren Hill, Blacklisted), and bearing cover art created by Fist City. Following their most recent European tour in November and December, and subsequent Southeastern US mini-tour with labelmates Society Sucker, CDC will take the tunes out to more American fans over the coming months, including a tour of Puerto Rico in April in conjunction with the band’s confirmed performance at Southeast Beast Fest in Jacksonville, Florida alongside Life Of Agony, Biohazard, Cro-Mags, Earth Crisis, Rotting Out, King Nine and more. Stand by for additional dates to be added.

XIBALBA: Entire Tierra Y Libertad Streaming At Lambgoat As Southern Lord Releases Awaited Third LP; Release Shows Begin This Week

Monday, January 26th, 2015

Tierra Y Libertad, the anxiously awaited third LP from Pomona, California’s XIBALBA, is out this week on Southern Lord Recordings, officially unleashed in Europe today and striking the US tomorrow.

Bearing an impressive arsenal of recordings amassed since 2010, including notable splits, EPs, demos and two prior LPs, each chapter of XIBALBA’s recorded bloodline to date has seen the band expand upon their dense, hateful sound, and their third LP, Tierra Y Libertad, proves to follow this ominous warpath. With some of the band’s most savage death metal-fueled hardcore and decimating breakdowns to date, XIBALBA still continues to impress with new atmospheric tones and harrowing elements with nearly forty-four minutes of unrelenting revolutionary violence. Tierra Y Libertad was recorded by Taylor Young (Nails, Twitching Tongues, Disgrace) at The Pit in Van Nuys, and has once again commissioned Dan Seagrave (Dismember, Entombed, Suffocation) for Tierra Y Libertad’s cover artwork.

Longstanding hardcore/metal webzine, Lambgoat, is today streaming Tierra Y Libertad from start to its gory finale at THIS LOCATION.

Also view XIBALBA’s official video for “Enemigo” at Revolver RIGHT HERE.

Tierra Y Libertad is available now on CD and grey vinyl LP direct through XIBALBA’s Southern Lord store HERE, and digitally through BandCamp HERE, as well as through All In Merch including a t-shirt package HERE.

XIBALBA will crush the East and West Coasts of the US with a Tierra Y Libertad record release show rampage beginning late this week. The band will hit Los Angeles and Berkeley on January 30th and 21st with All Out War and Skinfather, followed by a San Diego show on February 7th with Excel and Rotting Out. Directly after that they’ll raid the East Coast with five shows from February 18th through 22nd. With shows in Albany, Haverhill, Amityville, Baltimore and Providence slated with The Banner on all dates, Rude Awakening will play the last three shows, and All Out War will also join the Amityville and Baltimore dates.
