PRIMATE: Debut Album To See Official Release Via Relapse Records

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

Having signed with Relapse Records last year, Atlanta-based thundergrinders PRIMATE will formally unleash their debut LP via the label in the scorching Summer months ahead.

After seeing a limited release by the band directly via a 1000-run CD pressing in March of 2011, PRIMATE’s crushing Draw Back A Stump will see an official worldwide Relapse release on July 3rd on CD, LP and deluxe digital download. The seven hymns from the initial version now include additional rhythm guitars and have been remixed and remastered, and are joined with three additional previously-unreleased bonus tracks on this edition.

Get down with a teaser for the release and more at the RELAPSE YOUTUBE SITE.

An all-star band comprised of extreme music scene vets hellbent on delivering Grade-A punk the likes of which has not been set loose on the ears of the world since the glory days hardcore, PRIMATE channel decades of international extreme music influences into a glorious record of hellish rage all their own. Upon its initial release Decibel Magazine praised Draw Back A Stump calling it “grind with elements of classic U.K. crust, Swedish D-beat and American hardcore, plus just enough experimentation to create the aural equivalent of a watch throwing springs and gears in every direction while keeping perfect time,” with Metal-Army America adding “Draw Back A Stump has all the bells and whistles of old-school hardcore and the best of modern sludgey-grind” and Grind To Death boasted the record is “like no other grind I have heard…borrowing from the crisp clean metal stylings and structures merged with the rhythmical pogo stick bouncings of punk to make its own blend of music.”

Stay tuned for more info on the release of Draw Back A Stump, PRIMATE live confrontations and more through the coming months. Preorders for the album are available now VIA RELAPSE.

INCOMING CEREBRAL OVERDRIVE: New LP Out Now And Streaming via Rock-A-Rolla

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

Le Stelle: A Voyage Adrift — the third, explosive LP from Italian riffmanglers INCOMING CEREBRAL OVERDRIVE — is out this week worldwide via Supernatural Cat. In honor of the diverse, damaging new album’s release onto thrill-seeking audiophiles this week, Rock-A-Rolla Magazine is streaming Le Stelle: A Voyage Adrift in its entirety via their official website AT THIS LOCATION.

Showcasing the progressively-charged act’s unique methodological bombast with nearly 50 minutes of unclassifiable aggro-technical metallic thunder, even more focused yet equally as potent as their previous releases, Le Stelle: A Voyage Adrift is an album that elevates the name INCOMING CEREBRAL OVERDRIVE from the cult depths they’ve roamed over recent years, its laser-induced riffs and neck-snapping time signatures will brand the name of the band into the brains of all who endure the journey of the ten tracks on the LP.  Orders for the album can be placed via the Supernatural Cat Store RIGHT HERE.

ICO have recently returned from  a crushing European tour alongside their companions in Ufomammut, and are preparing for more live attacks in the months ahead.

“The band have taken a major stylistic leap forward…the many layers and countless twists and turns making for a dense but enthralling listen…they have to be commended for their skill and vision here.” – Rock A Rolla

“…jammed ear to rear with quirky time changes, intrepid riffing, and heavy bullishness, making it a contemporary yet progressive blend of math rock, hardcore, and sludge.” – Broken Beard

“This is a record for those who like a bit of technicality with their blunt, forceful riffage, there’s enough going on here to warrant a heft of repeated listens, investigate for a challenging and satisfying listen.” – Ninehertz

“This is a record that is enormously demanding in terms of your attention: it bellows at you to stop what you’re doing and invest time with it from aggressive beginning to monolithic end.” – This Is Not A Scene

Commented growl king Chris Barnes of the release: “Creating an album is a lot of work and a lot of focus, but we didn’t really have too many hiccups in the recording. It went really smooth, and it was pretty much the most effortless album we’ve ever tracked. I had a great, great time working on this album; it was so much fun because everything seemed so new again.”

CATTLE DECAPITATION: Album Streaming In Its Entirety At MetalSucks

Friday, May 4th, 2012

Today MetalSucks will help you kick off your weekend in veggie-gorging progressive grind style with an exclusive stream of CATTLE DECAPITATION’s Monolith Of Inhumanity. Set for a North American release on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, the 11-track long player is an achievement that stands out as one of the most volatile, ambitious, and impossible-to-pigeonhole records of 2012.

Produced by Dave Otero of Denver’s Flatline Audio, Monolith Of Inhumanity sees the band investigating inventive new techniques in songwriting without abandoning their signature formula of confrontational audio wreckage. Conceptually, the record revolves around a potent distaste for contemporary civilization and the damage wrought in the name of progress. In addition, Monolith Of Inhumanity features a host of guests including Mike Majewski of Devourment (guest vocals on “Projectile Ovulation”), Lenard Leal of Cephalic Carnage (backing vocals by on “A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat”), The Cephalic Carnage Community Men’s Choir, consisting of all current Cephalic members and alumni Jawsh Mullen and Zac Joe (gang choir vocals on “The Carbon Stampede”), and ambient and noise interludes by Los Angeles’ most extreme decimator of sound, John Wiese.

Sear your eardrums HERE.

In related news, CATTLE DECAPITATION will crush souls on this Summer’s Shockwave Festival Tour 2012 announced earlier this week. The band will be joined by Fear Factory, Voivod, Misery Index, Revocation, Havok, Dirge Within, Last Chance To Reason, Vildhjarta, The Browning and Forged In Flame. Tickets are on sale TODAY at THIS LOCATION.

Comments vocalist Travis Ryan: “It’s been a great start of the year for us what with the new album already getting great reviews from fans and press and all, but we’re very excited for the announcement of this kick ass USA tour. It marks our return to Canadian soil after a three- year absence and is looking to be an extremely heavy hitter. Very honored to be asked by the Shockwave Festival to be a part of it!”

In the meantime, the band is currently bringing their audio pummel to the stage on the Occupation Domination 2012 tour alongside Origin, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, Rings Of Saturn, Battlecross and more!

BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS Let Loose New Noise Via Brooklyn Vegan

Friday, May 4th, 2012

As Negative Black,  the monolithic third LP from Germany’s BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS oozes towards North American release, the band today proudly drops the third track from the album on the public today. Witness the sheer aural pulverization of this band through one of the “shorter songs on the album,” by streaming the near-eight-minute-long “60WV” AT BROOKLYN VEGAN.

Recently the band released the album’s second track “400H” which can still be streamed VIA TERRORIZER.

Having just returned from a successful tour of Germany, BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS will continue to book new events throughout Europe and beyond in the months ahead in support of Negative Black. Footage of the band performing the track “14D” from the new album live in Athens can be viewed below.

Set for North American release on June 5th, the band’s first release for the eclectic Exile On Mainstream label, Negative Black surges with nearly eighty minutes of mammoth, slow-motion BLACK SHAPE OF NEXUS sludge/doom savagery. Recorded at the mighty Tonmeisterei Studio, Negative Black — an album four years in the making — marks a new step for the band, carving a path into their foreseeable future. While the outfit already bears the reputation for unfurling some of the most destructive but still coherently-flowing sludge metal available, incorporating outside elements of crust, black metal and soundscape persuasion at times, Negative Black surges to even deeper caverns of auditory obliteration, pummeling you with painfully slow doom and finishing you off with acrid, harsh drones, and giving down-tempo a whole new meaning.
